for the first 45 minutes england just lazed around the pitch not really caring about the result whilst making some shocking bad defensive mistakes. credit has got to be given to the second half england team for putting the boot in and getting a goal, even making the aussies get subs on to slow the game down.

im not down hearted by this result. england are and always have been a far superior footballing team to australia and anyone who argue that point is a fool. bring on turkey when the real business happens. judge england when it matters not in meaningless friendlies where players are more concerned about not getting injured than getting the result.

They were simply crap. No other way of putting it first half. Neville is not good enough. What was he doingfor 1st goal and Rio is too big for his own boots.

JJ and Hargreaves were excellent 2n half though. JJ especially showed we've still got hope! :)

nevilles got to go i agree with that 100%. mills is a far superior defender and showed that in the 2nd half playing along side a bunch of kids while neville just launched the ball up the wing along side beckham ferdinand and so on......

o yeah james is one of the worst goal keeps ive ever seen in my life he should have came out for the 1st goal and almost gave the aussies one on a plate by a mis punch

Its a shame, maybe if James had the brain of perhaps Seaman then he would probably be a world class goal keeper because he's tall, strong, quick and a good shot stopper, just a shame he's clumsy and thick.

Mills - if he doesnt get rid of Neville i might cry
Terry - can you not see he is the most naturally gifted centre back this country has along with Dawson?!
Ferdinand - but i would shove a rocket up his arse!!
Bridge - never been a big fan of Cole.
Becks - still the best
Gerrard - only just, i'd shove a rocket up his arse too. In fact i'd be very tempted to play Hargreaves or Jenas.
Now, FFS get rid of the shit like murphy and Butt and out either J.Cole or Bowyer in there, we need someone who can use the ball and get forward, not pass sideways and back.
Scholes - tell him to play in the free role sort of like Kewell, tell him he has liberty to go anywhere and join the forwards.
Owen - again, rocket up arse
Beattie, Smith, Defoe, Rooney - anyone but ***king Heskey, if he comes back in i will loose all faith in Sven.

I think you misunderstood lampshade, he wasnt saying we didnt care, (us, the fans) we do care, this is a very bad night for England because in the first half we were terrible, but the players looked as though they didnt care, as though they couldnt be bothered. I asume you're an Aussie, well done, you played well, Kewell was superb, too good for the likes of Neville. You deserved victory, no excuses.

i care aswell im a huge england fan but im not too down about a game where it was basically a training match. england under eriksson dont do friendlies its as simple as that.

That's a problem with football, these friendly internationals don't mean anything to the England A side, yet in rugby and cricket when you poms come down here even for a friendly tour everyone goes nuts and plays like their manhood depends on it. Maybe with a few more "Footy Ashes" matches the rivalry will deepen and it'll mean more to them.

I predicted an Aussie win. They have good players, a team ethic, and should have been at the world cup! England have a losing mentality in almost all sports - can't pinpoint what it is - but just cannot rise to the occasion for some reason. Here are the big losers from last night.

Sven - Clueless in international football - has different rules for different players. Won't play Macca cos he's not playing for real - then picks reserve team players like Jeffers and Upson. Liked his spunk in looking at new players - but his faith in the "first team" is sickening. They're the ones that lost the game and will blow the Euro qualifying for us.
James - Simply not good enough! Rooted to his line, uncommanding, and vastly inferior to Robinson and Kirkland. The fact that he is called up after a terrible season is unfair to other players.
Neville - Enough! Overrated completely - underperforms for England and gets caught frequently. Love afair with Beckham is becoming nausiating.
Cole - Unfit and should not have started
Cambell and Ferdinand - Need to spend some time on the pine and watch Brown, Terry, and Woodgate for a while. Awfull performance!
Beckham - Mr. Bunny-hop needs to be dropped for a while - so we can see Jenas on the right. His automatic selection is a farce!
Lampard - What the hell happened - this was your big chance and you blew it!
Dyer - Next! His time on the left is up. Lets see Barry, Cole, Thompson, or anyone else!
Owen - completely ruined by Houllier! Forgotten how to pounce and needs some time on the bench watching Rooney and Beattie.

Scholes and Beattie escape my wrath. Beattie played with a bunch of careless primadonnas and deserves another chance

The "second" team outplayed the first - and should all be considered ahead of the others for the next game. Why couldn't Sven give Cole some time on the left? What happened to Parker and Davis - they will probably not get another chance now!

Bloody awfull England!!!! On this display, I think we might be out of the Euro championships!!! But Sven's not worried - Barca are waiting!
