it was told already that if you see players tired or with condition less than 60% basically you should not train them and place to the no training slot and wait for their recovery.
what I am usually doing, I have all the slots with everything medium except the major attribute the slot is designed for. For example: shooting slot-shotting: intensive, the rest: medium and etc.
and besides there's a slot which I make for myself called intensive where everything is intensive and there you can place players who're young or just not playiing very often. but watch that slot cause players they tend to get tired.

one more hint: if you're playing on sunday try to define your squad on thursday and follow it's condition. Sometimes players like Trezeguet do not have enough stregth to recover in one week so such players could have poor condition in the game day, in order to prevent this you have to make sure that everything is going OK with team couple of days in advance.

with time you'll get used to that and would not have to bother yourself thinking it all over.

CM is not a game it's something more than a game!

Another training tip to check what affect training is having on you're players -

On the training screen click the view button at the left of the screen and change it from general to attributes. A new option called attributes should appear and if you click on this you should be able to choose to view the values of the players defending, mentality, fitness etc. When the current training is having a positive affect on these values they are highlighted in green. If they are red however, this means that they have lost value since the current training began.

Um...... I think I'll have to pull out. My 2100+ just died today and my 450 probably can't do a season a week. If I can get things working and finish by the deadline I'll still post it but it doesn't look likely now.....

They don't always respawn in their own country. You have no idea how annoying it is to finally find the respawn of Zola and he's stuck in the reserves ofsome 2nd Division French team who doesn't want to sell him.....

guys there's this kid called Ronaldinho(not the one in PSG), one which is in Brazil, he's 21 or something, he's excellent, I bought him for cheap (150 I think) and in Auxerre he's doing great, he's a striker but I play him as a mid and he's excellent.

only team of the year...
and then all those awards for 1st place...(fan players of the year...)

only 1st place players get points if they end up 2nd or 3rd they don't get anything.

Don't do that! Mental ratings are the thing that definitely changes in the respawns! Things like decision and determination always changes, just to make the respawn different from his previous life. Once Gattuso (early retirement, bad injury) had a lazyrespawn with aggression 20 but determination of 4...

Just to let you know, I was 7 matches into the season and it was W 7 D 0 L 0 A 31 F2 with Cisse banging in 11 goals in 7 matches already, not mention To Madeira (for 5k) not far behind..... and then the BIOS stuffed up.

Well well.. same thing is going on with me.. at the start of the season the board doesn't give much money so I wasn't able to do much so I had to selll:
- Fadiga for $7M
- Deblock for $3,5M
- Agboh for $5M
- Diabate for $4M
- Jay for $3,5M
- Faye for $4M

and with the money I got I went on to buy Mido and Ibrahimovic and this kid in Brazil called Ronaldhino (he's the best and he's so cheap btw) and Maldini... of course many other offers got turned down.

Ibrahimovic is my top scorer scoring around 2 goals every game.
but that wasn't just it
I was able to get West, Guardiola, Suker, Enrique Estebaranz & Victor Hugo Arizabal on a free ( I wasn't able to get Kiko on a free

Well, I´m almost halfway through the League Season, and I´m in 2nd place 3 points behind PSG (who have 2 games more). However, I think the main rivals in the title challenge will be Marseille, whom I already beat at the Fortress Of Doom (a.k.a. Abbé-Deschamps).

Small transfer activity. Have sold no players (although I wish to sell some no-hopes in the reserves), and only bought Tsigalko for about 150.000 euros. What a great bargain, as he has become my top scorer and has the highest rating in Le Championnat. Cisse has been a bit dissapointing, and given some contract struggles with him it should´t be a surprise if I sell him when the season ends.

Gvnalva, almost all of those players you sold are part of my best starting XI :eek:

Well they didn't fit into my plans:silly:.... actually I know they were great players, but I had to raise some cash and Ibrahimovic was my top priority! I know how to use this guy to produce his best and it's working, he's top goalscorer and him and Cisse are deadly. I also needed Mido, as my replacement for those two but I have been using him in Midfield. Maldini was allways one of my best buys so I needed him aswell and he's pretty cheap for a player of his quality!.
Tainio(however you spell his name) is amazing, every goals scored by Cisse or Ibrahimovic is because of him.

destined to relegation? they told me they expected to attain a good league position or something.. anyways take my advice sell some people and get some players you know how to use, and try to sign players who are on a free.

apart from chiotis, okoronkwo, aguinaga its the same players as were there at the start

seriously though, i have NO idea how some of you guys are so good at this game - id love to know what tactics and stuff you do because it was a real struggle to achieve what i did.

nevertheless i dont think ill be in the next seasons as the game now closes itself every time i try and save it :mad: :mad: - anyone had this problem before?

(and id just got agahowa :mad: )

well im first in the league with a couple of games to go.. everything is excellent, Zlatan is just amazing, Tainio is pure class... Maldini is the heart of my defence, and this Brazilian kid Ronaldinho is the key to my attack!

Dude I dunno how you got Maldini, that guy's got loyalty 20 and rarely leaves Milan. And why did you seel Fadiga? That guy makes all the chances if you play him right.

BTW, I don't think we're all playing on the same patch and update...... I'm on 3.9.65 with that database...... what's everyone else on?

I always get Maldini even with Juventus..at the start of the game he's always wanted.. and Milan always lets him go at $5M or something like that...

You probably haven't got the new patch then. In my version Guardiola and West have already signed for their clubs and Fowler's gone to Leeds. You should d/l the 2nd newest patch, fixes a lot of gameplay bugs. But not the newestpatch, that sucks IMO.

Figured out the training bit and am doing well there, but the transfers bit is still a learning process. I bought VDV, JRR, Reyes, Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Guardiola and Taribo West before the season started, but then it told me I didn't have the 18 mil needed for Chivu. So, I couldn't get him. It was still August when other teams like Sevilla came in with only 3.2 mil bids for Chivu. I was shocked. So, I used the 2.5 mil I had left to buy him (I paid about 6 mil, but it was in installments and based on appearances). I was shocked his price dropped so much. He was unhappy though and I think I unsettled him a bit, if that's possible.

Nah, it's with Barca. Results weren't going my way though (Rivaldo was not up to snuff) and I demanded more transfer funds. I subsequently got the sack. The fans backed me though.

Well, I did it. Won the league, a couple games in advance. Bordeaux had a late surge, and actually became my main challenger, overcoming PSG and Marseille.

About the cups, I threw away the League Cup by playing the reserves away at Paris SG (it´s just that my main players were exhausted from a very intense string of games). And in the French Cup, I was surprisingly knocked out by 2nd Division Creteil (spelling?). The humble side did what no one in the top flight could do: win at Abbé-Deschamps.

Tomorrow I´ll play the remaining games, and post the pictures.

Well im crazy about this game and i cant wait till CM4 cme out.I play this CM 01/02 almost a year.I just wonna see how other people playing and what results they have..I been play almost every league but best results i have in England with Manchester Utd..I been play from season 01/02 till end of the season 2007/08 all with Manchester Utd..And at the end o season 07/08 i coudent play anymore i start having bad results and i quit.All quality players i have they get older and retired and things like that and i coudent continue i just quit and now im gonna start again..During playing with Manchester Utd. i won 4 times English Premier League,4 times league cup,5 times Charity Shield,2 times Champions Cup,3 times Ueffa Cup, 1 time FIFA Club World Championship and 1 time Intercontinental cup..I did very good but belive or not that was meybe i wasent sell any Manchester players for all this time exept Denis Irwin, Laurent Blanc,David May and goalkeeper Raimond van der Gouw..I sell them becouse they where old thats the only reason..R.Van Nistelrooy and Veron was the best players and also Beckham and Giggs where great..Silvestre and P.Neville and G.Nevile and Scholes where solid.Young players from Manchester Utd Reserves like John OShea(Irish),Lee Roche(English),Bojan Djordic(Swedish),Craig Coates(English) and Ben Muirhead(English) become a real stars of the club at the season 04/05.They where great !!I also buy Pablo Aimar from Valencia in the season 03/04 and he was not that good like in Valencia but he did a good job.Also i buy Nuno Gomes from Fiorentina in same season when i buy Aimar he was good but Craig Coates was better and i sell Gomes at the end of the season.I forget to tell you i buy Aimar for $23.5 at the season 03/04 they didnt give him for less and also Gomes was $17.6.
At the season 05/06 i buy Juan Roman Rigueleme from Boca for $15.8..Those are all players i buy becouse in Manchester i have a very good Reserves and they becomes a good players..Also i think everyone knows you can sing West and Guardiola for a free.I sign West but he suck and i sell him for a $4.5 to Glazgow Rangers..Im telling you Rangers always building a great team,they buy all good players and you can see them always in Champions Cup with great results..Also you can sign Stefan Selakovic from Halmstad BK for a $800.000 and he is OK he can help very good sometimes :))..Massimilano Nuti Italian 19 years old,you can sign him free and he will be one the best defender you ever have..I sign him when i play with Barcalona.Well i think this is it and i would like you to write yours info and how do you play ?? anyways I finished my first season aswell.. won the league, and one of the 2 cups... I lost in the final for the other one..and I think i won one more thing.. anyways almost all of my players got awards... and my scoring rate is just WOW!:evil:

I won the Championship of Holland in the first year I managed Vitesse, with only one buy, an attacker called Denneboom, who was voted player of the year.
After that things aren`t good too compare because you can buy so much it doesn`t come down too really managing and tactics anymore.

OK, as for awards. I was Manager of the Year, my goalie Fabien Cool was Goalie of the Year, Tsigalko was U-23 of the Year (closely followed by Mexes) and Cool and Boumsong were named in the Team of the Year, with Tsigalko as a substitute.

Here´s a pic of my top squad and some substitutes. That´s with the "home formation", as I tend to change the formation quite often.

juan that's basically the same formation i used for my first couple of months playing cm! it works great up until midway the second season, so that's why i've started experimenting with all sorts of wierd things:D

When a player retires, most of their stats are recycled (along with the game's player id number) and they sorta reincarnated. Just think that when baggio retires a new player with roughly his stats arrives and is about 15-16. The ability would start low but the potential would be the same. Although I think CM does make a few random superstars sometimes but I can't confirm that.

66 games without losing, 8 players in Italian team of the year

just recently stated a new game and have only 5 lost games while winning uefa, scudetto, italian cup, european supercup and first position in a new season.

So after getting the sack, I started over with Barca. I did some nifty purchasing to start off with. First, I didn't get carried away with making big money signings. I got D' Alessandro at 4 mil (a real bargain if you can usettle him and get him). He's not a foreigner either cause he's got an Italian passport. I also picked up Zlatan for 5 mil. Those are the new discoveries i've made. Claudio Lopez became unsettled in Sept and I got him for 6 mil. I consider that a good buy. I then got Vieri for 26.5 mil after he became unsettled. I think he's a good buy. I still need defenders though and the good ones are too expensive.

To be honest i was 37matches unbeaten with Manchester Utd.

Now with Real Madrid im not good but i have the best players and im gonna try next season to break record..
With Manchester Utd. in a 2005/06 season i was finish 1st place(champion) with just one game losing against Liverpool 2:1 and all others i won..R.Nistelrooy was best scorer with 47 goals :))..
Spain league is much harder to play then a English i dont know why but it is for me !!

and note also if the players always warms the bench then he will not improve!

so try to play him as much as you could, and there could be moments when he'll get the best shape, mentality and condition so you play him very efficiently as starter for several games unless he'll start "sucking" again. That's good even for your first team players since they'll have some rest and will play better feeling their first team place insecure. I am not imagining this it's really so.

Now I play CM with Barcelona and on half season, Kluivert's condition is always about 65-75%. He can't play normally ,I don't understand why? What can I do to improve his condition???

And always keep an eye on the player condition screen. When they're exhausted rest them, even with 100% condition they're prone to injury and poor form then.

Try resting him and having minimal training. Or put him on in the last few minutes of a match so he gets the post match condition boost thing. Or if you wanna cheat get an editior and fix it.

Back to business...

Reaching the final stretch of the season, and it´s getting VERY hard. Tsigalko couldn´t score a goal to a rainbow, the holding mids (except mid-season buy Jaime) are lettin people through, and the sidebacks have some trouble too. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I´ve played 2-3 matches a week every week since January.

The League is not yet out of reach, but I become fearful that I won´t retain the title. Guingamp (where did they come from?, at least they got Baggio on a free) is leading the pack, and I need a debacle from them to repeat as champion. A CL spot is practically a certainty however.

The domestic cups? Humilliation describes them quite accurately, as I bowed out to non-league opposition both times. At least I had sweet revenge, and in the French Cup I steamrolled over Creteil (the ones who took me out last season).

Drawn in the CL with Inter, Leeds and portuguese minnows Maritimo, it all went according to expectations and I dropped into the UEFA cup. I lost at Elland Road and San Siro, but the big dissapointment was an away draw to Maritimo. Down in the UEFA cup away Sevilla (spanish league champions), I killed them at home, they killed me away, and I got through on away goals. I was about to repeat the formula againt Feyenoord, but a Kalou goal in the last minute took me out, just when I was about to make the quarterfinals.

AAAAARRRRGGHHHHH!!!! 3rd place. Guingamp almost choked, but they holded on, and PSG cut ahead of me for runner-ups. And I had title chances in the final day, but my guys decided it was a good idea to let in 3 goals. That means the only trophy of the year is the Champions trophy at the beggining of it.

Wait...... it takes a while even on the fastest comps. that or upgrade your comp. Champman is very RAM intensive too, so 256K+ is highly recommended no matter how many leagues you play. And if that doesn't work, your database might be stuffed.....

Anyway, my awards for Season 2 were the same as Season 1, with the exception of me not being Manager of the Year (Guingamp´s guy was, with me as the runner-up). Cool was goalie of the year again, Tsigalko was U-23 of the year followed by Boumsong, and those three players were on the team of the year (Cool and Boumsong as starters, Tsigalko as a sub).

Yeah Figo Zidane and Rivaldo after they go past 31 get passed around the clubs of Europe like a hooker in a nightclub. Dunno why tho, they get their games, they're usually happy but eventually they leave after a season or two.

BTW if you haven't worked it out by now, when you search for a player for immediate buyage (ok that's not a real word), put "interested" on in the search filter, those are the only ones who'll want to join your club without having to pay ridiculous amounts of money.

I thought I'd give you lot a bit of an update. It's the end of January in the 02/03 season. I came in 3rd in my first season, QF's of the CL and the SF's of the Spanish Cup. Currently I'm second in La Liga (2 points behind Real Madrid) and tops in my group in the second group phase of the CL. My team is really shaping up, but I still need defensive reinforcements. I've pretty much spent double what I've sold. I don't care though as I'm Barca and have a lot of money to spend. Tiko, Taribo West and Claudio Lopez were all bought and then resold for profit. I hope to do the same with Kiki Musampa, Zlatan, Mutu and Cannavaro. Funny, Tiko was sold to me from Bilbao last season (where they almost won the title and finished second) and then they rebought him this season. West was just picked up to make some profit. Claudio Lopez I picked up in the 01/02 Winter transfer market for a good deal. He helped out tremendously the second half of the season and then I sold him for double what I paid. Vieri is more a temporary signing. Like Claudio Lopez, I picked him up in the Winter of 01/02 and now have him transfer listed. I'll probably get only 20.0 for him. However, he did score 26 goals in the second half of last season for me. Xabi Alonso, Quaresma, Viana, Adriano and Angel Sanchez are all in the B team at the moment. I give them call ups once in a while though. I eventually want to sell Bonano, so Carini and Reina will be my keepers. Carini is non-EU though, so I may have to sell him. Riquelme is having an amazing season. I got him in the summer of 02 and he's doing real well. D' Alessandro has done well too, but is more of a sub. Same goes for VDV. Overmars does very well and keeps VDV on the bench. I just picked up Aimar in the Winter transfer window of 02/03. He scored on his debut and I couldn't pass him up once he was available. He'll pay for himself. I still need defenders though and am looking to bring in Rio Ferdinand and Chivu. I'll need more defenders though. I also want a new striker. I want either Tristan for RVN, or both. Tristan is too expensive 'til the summer and RVN is unlikely to leave United.

I Agree. I mean, who the hell is Kim Kalstrom!! I bought him for next to nothing and he grew into a megastar for Inter. I usually buy Sean Davis from Fulham if I can't prise Steven Gerrard away from the reds. Young but he don't half develop.

I think he'd be value for money and not necessarily a "best buy", but Ruud Van Nistelrooy can't be had. I get United to agree to sell him all the time, but he won't agree to the move. This is with Barca too. Not saying Barca's a bigger club, but it's not like I'm some minnow.

Kim Kalstrom is one of those freaks in the game that becomes super stars like Okoronkwo. Scandinavia seem to be a goldmine for these players in pratically any version. In 99/00 it was Mads Jorgensen and Peter Madsen, in 01/02 it's Kalstrom, Selakovic and on occasions Karim Bovar or something.

Freeze, Van Nistelrooy won't move maybe because 1. he just joined the club not so long ago. 2. he's not unhappy and has a high loyalty 3. the manager's reputation isn't as high as Ferguson's.

and ofcourse also Blomqist.

But I meant in real life, I will look that up, some Dutch team either signed him or wants too sign him, I think it was Ajax or Heerenveen.

With Lecce in 2007 I managed to get a 0 money Figo and Rivaldo still good!
Got a pretty good team and I am doing pretty well considering I am Lecce.

Well, I'll just tell you. :D OK, so I had just bought Ruud Van Nistelroy for 25 million. So who do I go out and buy next? Diego Tristan for 25 mil!!! My Barca is AWESOME! Here's the lowdown:

It's beginning of the 02/03 season. In the 01/02 season, I was out of the Spanish Cup in the first round (a bit of a habit for me in this game) and out of the CL in the second group phase (just barely). However, I won La Liga pretty easily. Real Madrid stumbled most of the way and got off to a slow start. Selling Figo to Bayern Munich and bringing little by way of reinforcements (Ilie of Valencia and Victor of Villareal) didn't help. Deportivo also challenged, but also got started too late and faltered towards the end. Anyway, I won it by 8 points and that was with using B squad players and non-starters for the last 4-5 matches. The board was rarely disappointed and I had a good relationship with the fans for the first time since i've played the game. My formation was a 4-3-1-2 or a 4-4-2 for most of the season. This time, I took a different approach to the squad and who I'd sell adn keep. I kept most of the squad and added only players I wanted (for the most part) and not just players I thought would help in the short term. Also, I've not sold players at too cutprice of deals. In fact, i've general made out pretty well with my selling. It seems to be working and I'm off to a great start with the 02/03 season. So, I love my Barcelona squad (you may need to be a Barca fan to understand) and only want some defensive reinforcements along with a right-sided midfielder. Claudio Lopez was a temporary buy since he did so well for me in a previous game. Same with Westerweld, but I wanted to keep him. I sold him though to raise cash for the Tristan transfer as I had just splashed out 25 mil on RVN. Christanval will go as soon as an exceptable offer that's not a 12 month deal comes in. Mexes could be sold soon too. I won't be bringing in new players til next summer, but I think I can take the league, Cup and perhaps CL with my current lineup. I'm looking at Rio Ferdinand, Christoph Metzelder (had him for 2.7 mil in Summer of 02, but was outta cash with Tristan deal) and D' Alessandro. I'm very pleased with my squad though. Rivaldo was the best player in the 01/02 season. He was runner-up for World Player of the Year. I was manager of the Year in La Liga. Luis Enrique was runner-up for mid of the year in Spain. Saviola had a good season as did Overmars and Gerard. Gerard really established himself, but Riquelme and him keep each other on their toes challenging for the same spot. Riquelme did well in the second half of the season (got him in the Winter window). Van Der Vaart did well with limited opportunities and Reina is going to be the keeper of the future as he did very well. Xavi did well with limited opportunities too. Fernando Torres did alright with a few appearances, but scored a few in the last 4-5 games as he got a run of play. He's also off to a great start with the Spanish U-21's and is scoring regularly there. Barca B rarely lost last season (if ever, we're talking 2 maybe 3 times).

Well, there you have it. It was a fun season and I still can't get over my squad. This is a dream for me as a Barca fan. Too bad it's just a game. Thanx for the tips guys. I'm sure you guys think I overspent on some of the players, but they're performing and I really wanted 'em. One thing I did differently this time was shortlist a boatload of players, which kept me up to date with a lot of em.
