Only things too decide are team too play with, time limit too finish the three seasons and perhaps ways of proof like you suggedsted.

If a mediocre team is chosen you could set a time limit of lets say three weeks and in those three weeks you have too give your best result up too compete. I mean, you can`t controll people trying more often if they get sacked.
Noithing wrong with that either, too perform well with a mediocre team it comes down too skills anyway.

As Soccer Fanatic suggested, in the "best buy in CM" thread, we should make a game which consists of 3 seasons, we all have to manage the same team (we all agree on the team to manage first...), there's no cheating, and if someone cheated then they are losers...
we will have a time limit to play these 3 season, and at the end we will have to report what we managed to do in those past 3 seasons... Soccer Fanatic will explain more...:D

Yes we are talking about that CM, which team still has too be decided. First we must know who are in than people can say their preferations.

Team has yet too be decided, it is more democratic too let everybody who ewants too have a say, but I`m with you and PopA, a topteam is less fun than a team for which it is more difficult too reach more, will make it easier too pick a winner too.

How about the Portugese league? It's interesting 'cause as long as you don't play as Porto it's fairly challenging and Sporting and Benfica has some decent players but not enough to be easy. Faily decent league whaddaya say? Plus then it's a challenge to do well in Europe as well.

My sugestion is to coach Sampdoria who at the start of the season would be in Serie B, so our main aim in the first season would be to promote them in the Serie A, our second season we should be able to compete for the title or atleast, a CL or UEFA spot, our third season we should be able to win it all, what do you think?;)

Currently in fourth with Vitesse, bought Romano Denneboom and Hoogendorp on free transfer.

Having troubles in defence, the club is broke, so I had too borrow Rzasa, you know, form Feyenoord. :eek:

First season I missed qualification for Europe, because of losing in the intertoto.

So I won`t be much of a comtender in the competition, although I do get best results when there is tension, like my rollmodell, Louis van Gaal. :D

Udinese ended up 3rd place before i took over and I didn't manage to win the the game which would have put them into the first round of the CL, but im in the UEFA Cup no, and I just beat Vitesse 4-1 in the first leg!;) :D

No we didn`t. We haven`t started yet, since people still are applying.

Team isn`t yet decided, we will have too do that among eachother, if that appears not too work, it will be randomly.

i'm in first ahead of PSV by 3 points, feyenoord in third but like 10 points behind...... bought ambrosini for 3.2 million pounds, sorin for 3.5, delgado for 7, taribo west for free,holovko for 1.4 and Franco costanzo for 1.8, as well as gerardo torrado for 1.4......
nikos machlas is kicking ass, with about 50 goals in all competitions this season! top league scorer with 32! Chivu is currently valued at 9 million pounds i have no idea why! hehehe he's that good and mido won both golden boot and player of the year

1) did you BUY the game and if so where?
2) if not (downloaded from kazaa or grokster), the game will work on your pc, as i spend my summers in the states and take the game files (burned onto a cd) with me and play all summer long!

the game will work on your computer, because pc's are not like consoles, which are coded for areas. In the strange case that the game won't work properly, check your hard disk, it might be scratched, as it is in my case..... i'm just too lazy to buy a new hard disk!

Hey PopA. Once i've downloaded the game, what do I need to do?

well you extract it! it usually comes in zip or rar form (so download winzip or winrar - www.download.com)
you click on settings, put it in whatever language you want, currency, wages (weekly, monthly, yearly), and definitely MAXIMUM database, that is essential!
then start a new game, choose whatever leagues you want ( i recommend you don't pick more than 4, it gets too slow!) and presto!
it takes a while to load the leagues so be patient!

It's a 3/4 week competition,
we all start the season with the same team, and we all play with that team for 3 season, NO CHEATING IS ALLOWED!, so whoever cheats is a loser, when we all agree on what team to play with and we start the game, we will have an amount of time to finish those 3 seasons. After the seasons are over
each one should take a snapshot of his Hall of Fame and of any awards or anything that his player/club won;)
If anyone is going to cheat, I suggest them not to participate then, you should be all honest and say the truth. Soccer Fanatic is still working on the "points system". We will tell you more after a while:D

You just don't have the skill man! I did the perfect season with that formation! It's all about the team and individual orders..... and knowing when to change to other formations......

what if we take the best russian team Lokomotiv Moscow and start suffering. Even though Lokomotiv is strong, they're poor, they have bad facilities and the weather sucks there, so that's an extra problem. at the same time a good side of story is that Lokomotiv plays in CL and if you play good there (almost impossible), you'll get some cash to buy players.
Since they start and play throughout summer, we will not be able to buy european superstars or probably any european players, and our scouts will die out of sweating looking for good players for very very reasonable price.

but Lokomotiv has something great in them :D:p:D

What constitute as cheating but? Some people may use some technique to get players for the lowest possible price. Is that cheating or shrewd business? And how many background league do we play? In my experience more background league leads to a better continental play and also more intestering transfers. But some people may not have the processing power to play all the leagues and not take an hour to load from morning to afternoon. And do we play with full database and what about fog of war?

Anyway, I have to bring up the Argentinian league, I spent 2 years at Boca and it was damn fun trying to keep Riquelme for as long as possible, then making a sucessful team without him and trying to compare with River Plate. Also 3 seasons in Argentina means 6 titles and the possibility to up to 9 continental titles plus the intercontinental cup. But then it's not quite as challenging as Boca, all you have to do is beat River Plate and the occasional nutcase superteam. And the rest is a little hard to build 'cause of Argentina's transfer deadlines.

And please! No English clubs! The TV Money in the Premiership is ridiculous! I could have no money all through a season then be rich again in July!

WEll, he´s probably closing in on 30, so I would definitely sell him if you still have Zlatan. If you dont, then its up to you, but it´s really a good offer.

I re-installed the game as I messed up the whole thing with the editor and stuff...I started a new season, coaching Juve, and Italy's NT aswell.
I was able to pick up Taribo West for free, and Barcelona made a bid for Salas he's valued 33 M$ but they offered me 50M$!!! DAMN they are crazy, anyways instead of the money i proposed them an exchange deal of Saviola & Kluivert for Salas, I knew they would turn me down like usual... but they were stupid they accepted!!!
Coco got unhappy because those 2 left so I made a bid to see if it works and I was able to snap him out aswell, J.Zannetti he was the hardest one, I had to sell Zenoni, Maresca, Conte to get him! and Inter accepted.
I then got Cannavaro for a cheap prize + O'neil to them.
Im using the same formation looney but I don't know if it's still working, I won my first game then lost my second. But I won 2 games for Italy with it, so I hope it can continue to work!

Being handy in buying players isn`t cheating, like you said, that is only smart.

You raise a good point in how many background leagues, I know my PC sucks with too many leagues, two or three background leagues should be enough right?

You should be able too find a good replacement. for that money.

Never transfer list someone who scores 47 goals a season! Usually when you transfer list someone the other clubs bid less than they usually do. Unless you're really desperate for money don't sell your players cheap! Just let him bang a few more goals in and clubs will come rushing in. If it doesn't look like they're bidding anymore, try changing his team status from indispensible or what have you to something lower.

And it helps to have the best training facilities..... Paolo Maldini just retired after captaining Italy to the 2006 World Cup and 3 consecutive ECL with Milan..... I thought it'd be impossible to replace one of my best defender........ and guess where his respawn shows up? AC Milan with the excellent training facilities and academy!

Fog of War is Masked Attributes, know where they don't show the player's skills 'cause you dunno them any good?

And background basically simulates that league as well but without a lot of stats. So the teams there have their full squads and the players are more influenced by form and injuries.

I can play all the leagues in the foreground so I'm cool. Just wondering tho, is Fog of War a bit unfair on the less experienced players since the old masters know where Okoronkow is?

At the start of the game get Taribo West for free. He has no club at the start of the game and you can sign him for free... go do that. and which team are you managing?

IAlso if you can afford the wages Pip Guardiola is available on a free and worth about 4mil, also on a free Alain sutter is great for a season if you are not a top club, And buy Richie Wellens from Blackpool - you may have to pay 750k to1mil for him but treat him well andwait a season or two and he will be worth 10mil+ and playing for england_ every time!

Deco?!? Brazilian? - problem is i nearly always play english league and its very difficult to get work permits
- Although Romario is worth a punt for a season. Play him up front on his own and have him mark the keeper, specially with a lenient referee.

An impressive final run, ManU dropping some key points here and there, and I take the Premiership title to Ewood Park. And to top it off, five of my players (including my reserve keeper, David Preece, :confused: ), got called up to the England squad for Euro 2004.

In all fairness, it was a close end. I had to get a goalless draw away at Middlesbrough in the final day of the season to take the title.

hmmmm let me see how i can help zul.......
for the first part of the season arrange your training by setting everything on light for everyone, separate into groups by filtering:
1st group (MID): composed of midfielders and defensive midfielders; once the season is a few games in, set everything on intense (except for goalkeeping obviously!)
2nd group (DEF): just regular defenders or some defensive mids that you pitch as defenders; FITNESS INTENSE, TACTICS INTENSE, SHOOTING MEDIUM, SKILL MEDIUM
3rd group (FORW): Strikers and whatever forwards that don't have much dribbling skills but great finishing; FITNESS INTENSE, TACTICS MEDIUM, SHOOTING INTENSE, SKILL MEDIUM
4th group (AMID): Attacking midfielders and forwards with decent dribbling skills, or young ones you want to develop; FITNESS INTENSE, TACTICS MEDIUM, SHOOTING INTENSE, SKILL INTENSE
then finally, to the Gk group, put FITNESS INTENSE and SHOOTING LIGHT.

NOTE whenever a player has the comment "in need of a rest" or "exhausted", regardless of their physical condition, put them in NO TRAINING for a while to prevent injury!

a 4-1-3-2 wing backs moving up to def mid field (sorin and yakubu), centre a rotation between chivu, holovko and west, def mid ambrosini, three center mids all moving up to att mid (vdv, van der gun as playmaker and van der meyde) and mido and machlas as strikers

I bid as high as 50 million pounds for RVN, and was still turned down!!! Tristan I could have had for 30 mil, but balked at that price. I bid as high as 35 mil for Aimar and still was turned down. I eventually brought in Chivu for 18 million pounds, Joaquin for 3.1, Milito for 2, Reyes for 3.1 and had bids around 12 mil each for VDV adn D' Alessandro going through during the season. What's the trick with transfers? Should I bid sparingly? Not make it public? I kept bidding 'til I felt it was too much or I got my man. Chivu bidding started at 4.5 and ended at 18. He was injured no less!

Have you tried changeing your staff around???
Bring in some top quality coaches from around europe and asign them to specific training schedules which match their tactical, goalkeeping etc knowledge.

When your trying to buy players check out the finacial situation of their club. The bigger clubs nearly always demand ridiculous prices for top players if their finances are secure. Look for clubs in financial trouble and always under bid to start with.

Send a couple of quality scouts to Scandinavia - there are some real bargins to be had, and some very low priced underated players in the smaller teams who often come good.

D'Allesandro is not a good buy Zul...
I advice you to start your game again, and get West and Pep for free, put Rivaldo on the transfer list and when a team comes to buy him click on the "exchange" button, then at the top theres another "exchange" button click on it then choose the player you want to exchange him with, sometimes this doesn't work and they don't accept to exchange their player but sometimes it makes the other teams bid with more cash;)

the best formation for you to use would be a 3-4-1-2
make your right & left defenders go up only one step (you know how to do that right? you just right click the mouse on the player and you drag your mouse upwards)
your 2 central mids make them go down 1 step and your right and left mids make them go up 2 steps, and your Atacking mid make him go up 1 step.
in the team instructions thing..put the first thing Attacking, passing direct, no offside trap, yes pressure, no counter attack.
and allways chose a playmaker and let him be your AM.

do that and then get back to me to see if you won or not..be patient;) :D

Woo! going for 5th consecutive Scudetto now and undefeated in the first 12 matches! Roma and Genoa (who finished 3rd last season) next tho, might be tough. Sheva just won't stop scoring and new signing Robben is just ripping them apart.....

gnlvagosov, play Davids, Maresca's stats are randomly generated so he's probably only got an ability of 130-150. And have Saviola as running striker to Kluviert. Helps to have fast wingers who can cross well too, possibly good dribbling, but you can't always have Giggs and Figo I s'pose. Try maybe Nedved (dunno much about him 'cause I generally don't buy him) on left wing and Rivaldo as fantasista. Don't forget to make Rivaldo and whoever's got high creativity and/or flair as playmaker. And your centre back in the middle of the back 3, make sure he's man marking someone. If he's zone marking he don't do too well and when you put him man mark sometimes he doesn't mark anyone. Just before a match make sure he's marking someone otherwise he's a liability.

If nothing else works, use 4-1-3-2. the AI might make worked out your formation.

And does everyone play direct passing and hard tackling when they're desperate for a goal? I find it quite useful against an evenly matched opponent, often get a last minute winner.

Taribo West, Diarra, Martel Zongo and Stefanovic will bring Vitesse as it looks now too the CL. :)

Oy! what a mess you made zul! your biggest mistake was putting all those key players on the transfer market immeadiately... in CM you can never replace all of your current staff in one bang... it has to be a gradual change.... you basically unsettled all of your established players, and that leads to unhappiness and underachieving! start again as gnlvagosov said, sure sell rivaldo if you want, but i recommend trying to give him a contract extension until something like 2003/2004, playing him for a season and raising his value (it can reach something like 27 million), then sell him, but of course, have a young and talented replacement waiting to be bought in, maybe joe cole from west ham or vdv or vdm or van der gun..... also check out swedish leagues, for players like kennedy bakircioglu or kim kallstrom or stefan selakovic, all can be bought cheap and are good. that's the best way to replace players....gradually:D

So, restarted tonight. Pep on a free. Chivu broke the bank, Joaquin on the cheap. Kept Rivaldo around and he's been brilliant. Saviola is just as good though. Going easier on the training is helping, but I'll have to figure out how to customize it more. Morale is very good. I've got VDV and Milito coming in on the break. I sold Coco for 10 mil and Cocu is leaving at the break for 10 mil!!! I'd like to offload Rochembach and Geovanni, along with Christanval, Andersson and Abelardo. It's tough brining in defenders though. I'd still like to bring in 3-4 more CB's (after my sales). I'd also like to bring in JRR, but Boca want a lot. After 5 matches, 6th or th in the league with 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss. 2nd in CL group to Man Utd by only a point. I've got Xavi, Saviola, Gerard, Puyol, Reina, Arteta, Joaquin, Chivu and Gabri on deals til 2011. Don't really get the bit about bringing in coaches. I tried to bring in Frank Rikjaard, but he turned me down. Here's my formation for the big matches.

When I play The Arsenal I often sell Vieira to Barca, he nearly always averages about 8.50 for the season, and 20 - 30 assists when he plays in Spain.
But be warned i've got as much as 48million for him in the past, and in my experiance FC bayern + Madrid often start a bidding war which pushes the price up.
Try checking out the Dutch clubs for CB's.

Well, I reckoned that I had to buy some players if I wanted to meet board expectations of retaining the Premiership title. So, after a few arguments with the board over wage money, I finally got the players. Walter Bassegio, Sebastian Kehl and Zlatan just joined, all in a matter of weeks.

Things are looking good in my Blackburn camp. After a bad season start (loss to Leeds in the Charity shield, loss to Boro in the premiership opener, and draw with recently promoted West Ham in my first home game, all before my signings) things have been looking up for the team, getting important away results (draw with Ipswich and wins over Fulham and Lazio in the CL). Also, I had an easy CL draw (Lazio, CSKA Sofia and Vitoria Guimaraes). Too bad I´ll have to leave camp for a while to focus in the WSB competition.

Their is a time deadline which is three weeks.

This means in three weeks time you have too enter your result too compete in the competition. In those three weeks you can try more often ofcourse. If you for example get fired on the first day of the three week deadline, you have time enough too try again.

Isn`t cheating, only having too much free time perhaps. :)

Zul play like in a real life.

don't make public bids for stars until they're unhappy with their managers or smth. like that.
go to public bids if you buy cheap players like eastern europeans or africans, scandinavians.
keep on bidding for several times, until you get a real reason for refusal from them.
start bidding with the plus 30% of the real value and then don't go for more than 3 times the price of the player for the high stars.
negotiate when you're selling a player, if he's wanted by several teams then negotiate bids and just practical advice sell the player somewhere else, say to scotland otherwise they will be playing against you...
there's always Vieri unhappy in Inter by default. I won everything but he's still unhappy.

in your case you can also compare players! it's a good tool. workrate and teamwork are important if you're going to build a good team rather than player on stars.

don't buy average players, you've already got plenty of them in your squad, I mean there's no point to sell Coco and buy some other week ones.

find a good keeper Frey is the case for Barcelona for sure.
if you land Crespo it's great.
do not buy oldies cause their parameters will fall in coming years, like Chiesa is great but in 2003 he's losing his acceleration and etc.
West is a very good CD defender. actually a good defender shall have good tactics about 17-20, workrate, strength and tackling.
Holovko is an excellent signing too, oh yeah you can play only 3 foreigners :(

then I would advice, Viera, Van Bommel, Gattuso, Vieri, Henry (his parameters will grow)

and players form, condition and mentality are very important! if you play out of form players, even though stars they will perform below par, if they're not fit then the same problem. a player shall end the game having more than 75% condition.
personally, I've bought Landzaat from Utrecht i think and he was in better shape than Javier, so that Javier was benched for almost half of the season until landzaat's form was comparable to Javier. so watch closely the form of playerss, and in order to improve it you can field them for some minutes or send them to B team.

and do not start changing positions and tactics while playing some time like 20 minutes. it's useless. rapid changes must occure around 30 min, but if everything seems fine then after 45.

next time we'll speak about squad rotation system, the most difficult part to make, to rotate the squad well enough in order not to lose performance and at the same time have about 17 players in good form, what allows you to play different tactics!

yes and the last small hint send one of your scouts to scout opposition! it helps sometimes.

Enrique is not that good the first season or 2 you get him...but after those 2 seasons he becomes the best in WSB and starts scoring around 2 goals/game...

if you want to see all the players on a free click on your name then go to Players & Staff search then type down "no club" or something like that.. and you'll get the list of players who have no club.

some other good buys are Ronaldhino, Mpenza (Shackle), Farinos(Inter), Selakovic (Halmstad), Steve Marlet (Fulham), Samuel Eto'o (Mallorca, Juninho (Atletico Madrid), Laurant Robert (Newcastle) for Laurant start bidding from $12,250,000 and up till $14,000,000

Fog of War should be on, if you've noticed, with full database the Fog of War takes FOREVER to load when you start a new player so that discourages taking over Real Madrid and selling all their players to your team.

Provided you have the time (eg close season) always try to bid under the asking price first, there's a chance that a) the other manager is stupid b) they're desperate to sell to raise cash or c) they don't want the player but haven't gone public with it yet. And don't go public unless you really want to, that sometimes means other clubs join in the bidding war.

If there are other clubs and it's driving the price up, bid 50 million before the seller accepts any offers, usually they'll ask for 50 million from the other clubs as well, which means they'll bugger off. Free agents, go to search, go to filters and select range "free". That gives you all the free transfers, just filter out the crap ones by setting your attributes.

After a while, foreigners MAY get passports. Although I don't know if there's a pattern to it or anything, it seems rather random. Plus I don't know why but Shevchenko looks like he doesn't count as a foreigner even tho he doesn't have EU nationality.

And yes, you do keep your funds at the end of the season, but mostly they'll take a bit from the coffers as dividends, even if you made a loss.

And if you don't like Vieira, tough! :p Unlikely you'll find another player like him. Wait 10 seasons when he retires then sign his respawn then. ;)

And send scouts to Scandinavia, they have a vast pool of talent there. And don't get players with totally crap attributes but playing well in recent seasons, research on their history before buying. Form is temporary, class is permanent.....

How you don't like Vieira is beyond me, but he really is worth it, especially for Barca, the best midfielder in the game.

Another good buy his Mange Hosthe from Molde in Norway. He's a left sided atk mid and a U21, you should be able to get him for bout £1.5 mil. He is very good and if you sign him as a prospect for the future he will happily sit in the reserves and still put in a good performance when you need him.

Training is v important - if your strikers are missing chances put them in shooting - if players can't last the distance put them in fitness - defenders normally get better if you put them n tactics and so on. You honestly see a differance to there play after a match or two.
Remeber to rotate players training schedules - if you leave them doing only one type of training all season they will become noticably worse at other aspects of their game.

I picked up Chivu and VDV at high price tags. Same for Rafa Marquez, but I only play him sparingly do to his non-EU status (and the fact that Saviola, Rivaldo and Chivu all take precident). Like I said, if you're a Spanish side and you can get JA Reyes of Sevilla for cheap, do it. Guardiola is very good buy for anyone, but especially for Barca. He's my captain. Gerard is pretty good too. I start Xavi, but Gerard is my backup for either him or Pep. The reason I'd sell Coco is because he fetches 10 mil every time.

I totally agree with your training advice double. Thanx. HOWEVER, HOW DO I SET UP SEPARATE TRAINING SCHEDULES??? Please be specific on what to click on and everything else. I've tried it with no luck. I'm cool with managing it after that, I just want to set up separate training regiments for various players and can't get them separated.

about the transfer funds.. no they don't give you the same amount of money each season.. it depends on what you win, and how well you do. Free agents for the 2nd season.. you can do the same thing with the search to find out whos on a free, but I know that Maldini's contract would be over, Roberto Baggios, Gottardi (Lazio) & Torissi (Parma) contracts finish aswell.

The season moves on, and after hosting ManU, Pool and Arse in consecutive days, I know that my defence is top class. However, I´m having some trouble creating good chances up front, and I have decided to go to the transfer market once again, with Jose Antonio Reyes being my top target.

Another player catching my eye is Samba, but for the future. He isn´t being that big in Monaco, so it could be an easy target.

As far as i can remeber (my CD drive is buggered and i spend all my money on beer so i can't afford to fix it - meaning no CM for me at the moment - your posts are like a therapy helping me through the stages of CM cold turkey!) you can only set up two entirley seperate multi option training schemes where the player can be trained in mor than one aspect. These are available in the two bottom boxes on the right of the training screen. You can put as many players as you like in these and adjust the intensity of training to suit.
Example: if you have 2 or3 midfielders who are lacking in fitness put them in a training scheme with intensive fitness. But you can also put them on Medium skill or tactics, and light shooting so they do not become less effective in these areas while they become fitter.
Be Warned - if you put all the options to intensive they are likly to become too tired and pick up injuries.

Losing finalist = 1 point
*(In the French league we would be competing in 2 cups, the French Cup and the League Cup)

4 Super cup/ world club cup = 2 bonus point

5 Promotion = 3 points
Relegation = -3 points
Sacked = -5

6 Getting into UEFA CUP = 1 point
Getting in CL = 2 points

7 Winning UEFA CUP = 5 points
UEFA CUP finalist = 3 points.
Semis UEFA CUP = 1 point.

8 Winning intertoto competition = 1 point.

9 Manager/Player winning an award = 1 point
*(ending up in 2nd or 3rd place doesn't count, only 1st place)

We will divide the 3 seasons into 3 separate ones, each season there is a champion, no cheatting is allowed, after the end of each season, those who are taking part should take snapshots of their Hall of Fame, their league position, any achievement they or the players have made, and a snapshot of the team formation and players they used (just click on tactics and take the pic).

Each season a champ will be decided, and me and Soccer Fanatic will add up all their points down. At the end of the 3 season we will add up your total score and see who's the overall winner.:D

The start of this competition is this wednesday, so that gives us 30 days to finish these 3 seasons, so this gives us 10 days to complete each season.
The deadline for the first season is the 8th of February.
The deadline for the second season is the 18th of February.
The deadline for the third season is the 28th of February.
of course if you finish earlier you could post your results...
anything given after the deadlines WON'T be accepted!

The team that we are all using is Auxerre.

An honest to goodness tip if you're playing the english leagues is Richie Wellens who plays for Blackpool in the English 2 or 3 div.
He's central mid aged bout 20 and should cost bout 1mil. He doesn't look brilliant but give him a year and he'll be playing for england and making about 40 assists a season.

Thats exactley what i heard. I tried him in two differnt games and he never made much of an impact. He was ok but nothing special.
In one of the games i was nearly finished the second season and he announced his retirement for the end of the season!?

you get a huge amount of money for the start as a manager. next season will be based on your annual performance, say if each year your spendings are larger than you profits then you'll have to wait till summer to raise funds. But I am pretty sure you won't get the same amount anyway.

and the last in Inter I started with about 40mln euros in 2004 I received 200 euros coming from all the bonuses of winning everything, increased attendance and etc. but I had a brilliant star packed team playing about 70 games a season.

so it's up to you, but you won't get your mln. as easy as now anyway.

It's all random, they take it from the database of Italian names and get one. It's quite hard to get him straight off since there are so many clubs he can end up in or just free agent. Usually after a season or so he'll start showing promise, probably starting too if he's in a lower division team although I've noticed that big name players tend to respawn into Serie A clubs. Always have your best potential judgement scout trawl the youth players, he might be a free agent too. If not send all your scouts to strip search italy! And france, the damn French always sign the promising young italians...... Baggio's respawn is worth the effort!

The best way to recognise a player respawn is to remember some vital attributes before they retire. Things like flair, technique, set pieces, influence, workrate and teamwork seem to be constant mostly (ie don't change quickly when you train them) and the respawn tend to have these stats carried over.

Sometimes they give you some more transfer money if you're really in the dumps and you're Juventus or something. But usually you'll have what you finished with last season. Although each new season there's quite a lot of money from tv money and season tickets, not to mention prize money from the league, so that boosts your kitty if your wages haven't killed you.

And you can tell who's going to be a free agent in the future by using the filters in the search page. Just select contract, "expiring".

PopA, respawns are all random, they go to whichever team and they won't tell you, 'cause then it won't be fun! ;) You won't be able to spot them everytime, but there's some ways to identify them (without using an external program). I've typed them up in the best buys thread already.
