I don't like the NBA at all, but its great seeing the influx of foreign players into the league.

But I still can't watch what the NBA puts ut. They don't play until the last couple of minutes of the 4th quarter and then it takes 20 minutes due to all the time outs and fouls. Not to mention comercial interruptions.

Yes, it is quite a big problem~
But I still like NBA,not only like YAO and Rockets.
I like watching the salm dunk~and the hip-hop playing~

Yao is a good player. He brings a new versatility to the role of the center position. He is playing a lot better than i thought he would. I think in 2-3 years with this form he could be one of the best. But his teamates Rockets dont pass him the ball!!!!!!

sure he was going to be an all-star. player selections are based on fan voting and all of china voted for him. this is why fan voting should be eliminated. because then you have unworthy fellows like yao ming starting for the west. not that he wont one day, but now he certainly does not deserve to be there.

it's a disgrace IMO.

I agree with the above post........but then again, the fans are the ones paying the salaries, etc.......give em who they wanna see.

Yao doesn't deserve to play in the All-Star Game, much less start, but I'll be damned if I thought he was gonna be as good as he is.

The all star game is a stupid game for the fans, why wouldn't the fans have the right to see whom they want? Is a stupid all star game anyway. (did I mentioned that the all star is a stupid game?)

Last I remember All Star game players were chosen by the fans who attend the game. Do they have voting on the net now? If not then it's still largely the American public who picks the players. And thinking about it, Yao Ming isn't doing that bad, he's getting a few double doubles and Micheal only had a few dozen in his career.

anyone could've voted on nba.com and in this age of communications looney it's not limited within any set of boundaries you know that just as well as i do.

i heard it from a number of sources anyway, dallas owner mark cuban was one of them. he publicly encouraged us canucks to vote for steve nash (which i did btw cos he's phenomenal NOW ... not maybe in 5 years down the road) since the chinese were doing it for ming. look it, i agree with the fans having a say in who's selected since they do, as someone pointed out earlier, pay the salaries but only to a certain extent. let the fans choose the players, but let the coaches choose the starters. it'll save the game much humiliation and actually put back the star in allstar.

apparently, my main man vince is a starter too for the east. well i'll tell you one thing, i certainly didn't vote for him what has he played 15 games all season ??? why is he starting though, cos he's a human high-lite reel and that's what the fans want.

true about the net but I would've thought the NBA would respect some tradition and let the fans who attend the games pick......

And have you seen the net in China? Are you sure the Chinese Government would let the people view an nba site!?! ;)

Do you know what the whole point of the NBA allstar game is? It is for the fans and only for the fans. It is the only time the fans get to choose who they want and they chose Yao. He is therefore a qualified and worthy starter. By the way according to statistics, Yao beat oneal in american votes also. So more americans like the way Yao plays and i agree it is better than Shaqs style. If you want to watch the best players playing the best you watch the playoffs not the allstar game. The all star game is an exhibition for fun nothing more everyone knows that. If you didnt know that, you probably dont know alot.
