So much to do and so little time

First Suker calling it quits and now Boksic is going to hang up his boots... Rapaic could be back at Hajduk Vugrinec has signed with Atalanta and Bjelanovic is loaned to Chievo.

What does this all mean? Well, we have two Vatreni greats fianlly putting and end to their wonderful acheivements over the past ten years. Everthing from Boksic scoring the winning goal in the last Yugo Cup final ...to Suker topping things off with his Golden Boot performance at the '98 WC. Both gave us wonderful memories and now I hope they can contribute to football off the field in their retirement years.

Rapaic heading back to Hajduk is a bitter sweet. I would love to see him play in the white shirt again but at the same time it's sad to see someone of his calibre come back so soon. I'm sure their will be offers in the short term but...

Vugrinec and Bjelanovic, will they get called back to the NT? I suppose it really is up to them... They have to stand out a bit more in their performances for anyone to really take notice. They will be playing top level football and a string of good performances will not be ignored.

I can't wait for the next qualifier. :)

Maybe it hasn't anything to do with this thread(except retired cro players), but you won't believe what happened to me... Here in Dubrovnik, today Boban,Prosinecki, and Jarni are playing indoor with Glama against Square, and tommorow Hajduk is playing against Dubrovnik... And I said, there's time to buy the tickets... And I forgot so I think I'll never see Boban,Prosinecki or Jarni live...

I have two friends from Vancouver who live in Zagreb now...they played an indoor (small football) game against Boban's team last summer. It's just friendly soccer .One of them came back for a week vacation and told us about it. He said that just being in the same dressing room with Boban was an unbelievable experience.

The closest I ever came to seeing a Vatreni Great was Ladic and Maric who were in Vancouver in 1996...

Well thats normal thing, they know they cant play how they played before!! And is better to go and remember them as a "great players" and legends then to be bad on the end of the carier and people remember them just like normal players :))..

They know what they doing. Meho Kodro also hang up his boots when nobady was thinking about that..He was great,great player.They still remember his goals in Barcalona,Tenerife,Alaves etc.. So do we !?? :))

its true baric is killing our team, i could do a better job with playstation 2 tactics... The fat pig doesnt know a thing. Let Boban coach! hehe. We have fantastic players and he doesnt play them.... Balaban and Olic should play allways and he should bring Petric into the lineup too. He plays in Israel for one of the Hapoels, Maccabis there... And I think he's not that bad as a player, Marijo Maric comes to mind when we talk about bad players.

I have to agree with Legijas
Rosso is a proud Croat who has stated his intention of seeing out his career with Hajduk. He is considered one of the best players in the Isreali league and they were trying to convince him to play for their NT but he chose to wait for a CRO NT call up. I have not seen him play but I've seen clips and I've heard really good things.

No, I'm not a big Hajduk fan, I don't like Cro clubs very much, but I'm a big fan of BARCELONA. I can see you are a big Inter fan... Too bad, I'm a Milan fan :D . In croatia my favourite is GOSK, local club, plays in 2nd division.

I feel it is again experimenting by Baric at a time when experiments shouldn't be happening. At every game, he finds some new players that he calls crucial. it was the case with Rosso, Mornar, Srna.

I think he should still rely on Stanic and Vuga.

And Marijo Maric stinks indeed. Not as much as Tapalovic stunk at the Estonia game, but still...stinks.

Well, I agree that Baric is an idiot and he experiments WAY too much when some consistancy is needed but the way Dado Pršo has been playing he truly deserves a call up.

Well, you have to give a guy a little credit. After all, there is no aparent first 11 present. But in his search for it, he went way too far. He never stuck with the same starting 11, and that claerly says that he has no obvious picture of things. A hard situation, but agreed - he is failing.

And the media was critisizing Joziè. He did amazingly well with a group of players he had.

The tactics in Sofia with Tomas constantly on Balakovs back made Craotia play with 10 players, and Tomas failed. So - a tactical flop.

I was backing the picking of Kate.

To be honest, before the Bulgaria game...I really thought his selection was the best 11 we had at the time (except for Tomas...). After it was painfully obvious that we lacked in our attacking options and many of our 'star' players were not in form.

I'm still reserving judgment until after the Belgium game. It should be considered Baric's last chance.

Croatia will be long after Baric is gone....

If we do not make the Euros with the team we have...it will not be a tragedy. Having a team that plays nice soccer and can score goals is. Honestly, our NT hasn't been very good for a while. To have a good team you need great players. We have great players on defence but in the mid-field and upfront all we have are players with potential and some of them seem past it and if they don't start producing immediately for the NT it is time to go to the even younger players who have potential.
