space shuttle columbia explodes over texas

and on board the shuttle was the first ever israeli astronaut. ironically, it's been said that the shuttle exploded somewhere over palestine, texas.

This incident has really shocked me as i was ay the Space Centre just a couple of weeks before launch and had seen the shuttle, albeit through binoculars. The guide had been telling us that it was just another routine flight and that they didn't expect anything unusual. RIP to all those 7 that were involved.
