Who is the man to turn around Villas miserable form??

I believe that the club is in a position similar to Leeds when O'Leary took over. We have just won the FA youth cup convincingly, and have a good batch of youngsters on the fringe of the first team.

I know O'Leary spent a fortune in the end at leeds, but he managed to play entertaining football whilst bringing the youth through. Being a younger manager he also has seems to have a good relationship with the younger players. Also, look how Leeds have nose dived since he left.

Whether he would come or not I dont know, but personally, he would be my choice.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Ellis won't appoint someone like O'leary cos he wouldn't be a "yes man" like taylor.after Taylor it's George Graham or Wilko for you, dinosaurs live forever at villa park

I am of a firm belief that this next managerial appointment at Villa is pivotal to where the club goes in the future.

I no longer acknowledge GT as manager (even tho he holds the position) I think to anyone with any semblence of football knowledge, he is on borrowed time already.

If Ellis takes another step backwards by appointing one of the dinosaurs you suggest, the club could very quickly find its way into the lower leagues.

The next manager must be young, enthusiastic and have good motivational skills coupled with some tactical knowledge. Final requisite, must be a WINNER.

I agree with you,but i think that a new chairman is as much of a necessaty as a new manager. No up and coming manager will want to work for Ellis IMO, as he has ruined as many careers as he claims to have created.

I agree with you, it would be nice for Ellis to go but I am not holding my breathe. The other thing is, to Ellis' credit, at least we are not in the position of Leeds or Chelsea, 60/70 million pounds in debt.
I think Ellis still and always will regret the fact that the last time Villa won the league, he wasnt chairman.....................

taylor has another season on his contract and ellis won't get rid of him because he will agree with everything ellis says.he was brought in as a yes-man and nothing else

Stuart Gray is the next Villa manager.

He fits all of Ellis/Ansell's criteria -he's cheap and already works at the club.

Unfortunatly he's very poor as a coach, never mind a manager.
Just look how Southampton have improved since he left.

if Gray takes over then you will get a derby against West Brom every year......in Div.1

I just hope that even Ellis is not that stupid

Gray is terrible, Im sure that Ellis is aware that the fans dont rate him as well (although thats never stopped him appointing other managers!)

Last time out he was looking at Gary Megson, but I dont believe hes covered himself in glory at West Brom.

I honestly dont know who will be the next manager............although Van Gaal's free!!!!!

Not if we keep slappin' em in like we did last night my old mate!!

Even tho it was only villaboro'!!

Its nice to say Graham Taylor is still not the right man for the job, even after a 5 goal victory.............doesnt sound so sour grapes does it!

Just think what the team could do with a decent manager week in week out!

Mate, I agree with you totally.

The fee is only reputed to be around the 2 million mark and that would be an absolute steal!!

Dont leave it to the last minute so that everyone whos had a look at him at Villa can bid us out of it!!
