Hierro might have been the best defender three years ago, but not anymore. Change him for Aranzabal, remove Capdevilla and you got the best defenders in La Liga. I am glad you added Naybet, I think he is very underrated.

As a Barcelona fan, I could only wish that Kluivert would be the fourth best player in La Liga, but unfortunately, he is not.

He totally is. I think it's more to ensure they get the credit they deserve though rather than just the fact they're Dutch. That doesn't hurt either though I'd imagine.

Try and look further than your nose is long. If you read a thread somewhere on this forum about Hollands chances of winning the EC you would find I`m not as biased as you might think.

I just like certain qualities in players, which too be honest I see a lot in Dutch players.
It is a combination of technical skills with vision.
Players like Bergkamp, VDV, Kluivert and Litmanen are good examples of that.
All players who I admire, the first three not because they are Dutch, but because they have the qualities I admire in a player.

Ofcourse players like Enrique, Zidane and Tristan don`t bore me either.

My list would be boring:
1 Zidane
2 Kluivert
3 Enrique
4 Raul
List is biased too, because players I don`t like are not on the list.

But I can be an admirer of Dutch players without being biased can I? how can I help it if they are so good... ... ...

Cmon mate, you're a bit biased. I'm not saying you're criminally biased or anything, but you do like to talk up the Dutch players and the Dutch league. Hell, you just admitted that Makaay wasn't the best. Nothing wrong with that though. I'm not knocking you or anything. IMO, you're by far one of the most knowledgeable members on the WSB.

I do? I use them for comparisons a lot but mainly because I know our own league best. I do defend it if it is attacked in a non fair way, but never would state, unless as a joke, we have the best league in the world.
Did you ever hear me say Dutch players are better than foreign ones and that I rate the Dutch league higher than leagues like the EPL, Italian Serie A, Bundesliga or the Spanish League?
I don`t think you did.

I`m the first too admit that our league isn`t the best and that we are slipping up with the other leagues. I didn`t open a thread about a possible transatlantic league for nothing.
I have no problems with being called something like being biased, but is has too be based on reality.

I only talk up Ajax but I support them. :) Think everybody here does that a bit, and even when doing this I`m always honest on my predictions and views on CL matches, mostly negative for my team.
Too be honest, I have no clue on what Dutch players I talked up. :confused:


IMO, you're by far one of the most knowledgeable members on the WSB.

Of course he does. Being top scorer in LaLiga isn't a thing you can easy oversee. I think he's underrated, cause he doesn't behave like some other's who want to convince themselfs and us they are the big stars.
But it's not an easy question imo, there are several excellent players.
SF, you may be biased by the dutch football, cause it's known for producing some of the best players in the world, like Cruiff and VanBasten. No harm in that.;)

Makaay has many other qualities, but he's also a very decent person. There's not a lot of that star bubbling about him, thats why we forget him many times speaking about the best LaLiga players. ;)

I know is your "IMO" but Figo? Check his goals, almost all PK's after that not much. Take him out and add Puyol (your only defender is RC) and I like your list.

barca, nothing wrong with Figo. Him and Carlos are doing very well this season really, it's not the Figo of last season. And there are other defenders i didn't mention that are doing well, for example Ayala and Juanfran who's doing well so far this season. The list goes on and on.

Well this will never end, as we speak of opinions, but there is plenty wrong with Figo, he is just not who he was. I never said that RC was not doing well, he is doing great, as always.

If Juanfran is doing well this year, then I would hate to see when he is doing bad.
