Great to see Zaragoza being on their way back. Wasn't a pleasure see the aragons go down last year, since they're very sympathic to me.

let's hope they can keep up the pressure and not lose any valuable points
I see that they have adapted to silver flight, and should be on their way back. Also, keep an eye on Levante, with the inspirational aid of Pedja Mijatovic.
I hope he meets Madrid with Levante sometime soon, he deserves his ovation too.
Zaragoza steadies itself at the top, Sporting Gijon escapes relegation position likewise, and a Las Palmas team in deep crisis only takes it deeper.

Who are the favourites for promotion? Presumably Zaragoza and ....?
I'm surprised to see Oviedo at the bottom of the league

Favorites are the three at the top right now. But 2nd division is the most difficult soccer there is, in any country. I would have thought Las Palmas as well, but they will be lucky just to survive being a club. Levante is just an amzing stroy, relegated to 3rd division on points, stays on becasue the insolvency of Burgos (Burgos was penalized and Levante was allowed to stay) and look at them now, with Pedja and Madrid's reject Congo doing damage.
Xerez has to make it this year in order to validate Schuster as a coach, he almost made it last year but not good enough.
Yeah, but Xerez is big in debt now, and the ambience in the team isn´t good. Schuster might even leave in January. As you said, Las Palmas risks bankruptcy if they don´t gain inmediate promotion (and even so...).
My faves are Zaragoza, Levante and perhaps Salamanca, although Tenerife could make a resurgence. Also remember, keep an eye on Elche. They sure have the squad needed to aim for promotion.
Zaragoza got a serious beating from Elche, but they stay at the top. Sporting won the Asturias derby, closing in the safe realms of midtable.

Hmm, from the 1st they crashed into the 3rd

Last nail in the coffin of Las Palmas, no way they get back this year, their most important goal is to survive financially unless they want to be another Fiorentina.
Disappointing tie by Zaragoza, could have opened a 6 point gap but tied the 4th team from Madrid (although some people would say Getafe, but I think all of them live in Getafe!)
Another loss by Xerez, what a mess they have down there.
Fianally, hard to see Real Oviedo surviving their crisis. They will most certainly be relegated.
If I´m not mistaken, Leganes is a Segunda classic, never closing in on promotion, but never risking relegation either. Getafe bounces between Segunda and Segunda B, so how they can be 4th best? Why do they say that?

You are not mistaken, I am kind of making fun of Getafe, I had some friends there that always said they were better than Leganes, but like I said, only people from Getafe think they are the 4th best team from Madrid.
By the way, whom do you think will get promoted, given the results so far? Do you still think Samanca makes it? Tenerife has been a disappointment with too many ties and Xerez's problems are too large.
Yeah, it´ll probably be a struggle to the end between them and Murcia, behind Zaragoza and Levante. That´s what I think.
Murcia ended a triumph week with a win over struggling Tenerife. Two of the big promotion candidates, Zaragoza and Albacete, played a goalless draw.

Surprise of the week was Levantes defeat at Compostela. Levante had been doing well away with only two losses and Compostela only had two wins at home. Levante crashed 3-1, but they were never in it.
Getafe gets out the relgation zone, so my friends will be happy. And Murcia, as Juan said, is just kicking ass, another win, this time away and now they get ready to detrone Depor at the Copa del Rey competition.
Murice crowned themselves Segunda´s Winter Champions with their victory over Compostela. Chasers Zaragoza and Levante also won.

Tenefire with two "goleadas" in a row, but it might be too late, as they have too many losses already.
Levante, is a team I like and to think that they finished last season relegated into 2B. Could this be a sign that Murcia is not a promotion team?
And Xerez after all the Shcuster talk is 8 points from 12. Look for them to conitnue that move towards the top.
I can't imagine the papers in Zaragoza today.
After all this time...
Murcia leads alone, thanks to Albacete dropping points. Levante and Zaragoza also won, keeping up the pressure in the top spots. Looks like a hot race for the promotion spots.

I have been rooting for Tenerife and they had five wins in a row but a tie and a loss at Badajoz:eek: Their chances are almost nill now.
Somehow I don´t see Albacete lasting the pace. Murcia, Zaragoza and Levante to go up.
