Apologies if someone posted this already. I just came across this story. The Dutch are certainly passionate about their football :D

A Dutch player suspended for kissing ref

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - An amateur Dutch soccer player has been suspended for kissing a referee after he was sent off during a match.
The player was sidelined for eight games by the KNVB Dutch soccer association after planting a kiss on the mouth of a referee who had given him his marching orders during a game in the eastern town of Hengelo last month.

The player, who took the referee by the head and kissed him on the mouth after he was awarded a second yellow card, was punished for inappropriate behaviour by the KNVB's disciplinary committee, the association said on Thursday.

'First the player got a yellow card. Then he made remarks to the referee. The second yellow was also for talking (to the referee) and then the player got angry.

'He took the referee by the head and kissed him on the mouth,' KNVB spokesman Joris Gieske said.

The player's identity was not immediately available.

If you think that's bad, you should have seen an incident in La Liga last year ! Sevilla's Francisco Gallardo was caught on camera biting a team mate's balls (Jose Reyes), whilst celebtrating a goal !

"I just felt a slight pinch. I didn't realize what had really happened until I saw the footage on television," Reyes was quoted as saying by the French Press Agency.

Gallardo told the agency: "It was meant as a joke. If only I had known what a fuss it would cause..."

He was even charged with misconduct !:silly:

I did saw that on a satirical programn. They made some cool, not translatable jokes on that, involving kluivert. :)

They also said. "That is why Machlas isn`t allowed to score for Ajax, they are afraid he wants to cheer the Greek way" :D  :D

What was that guy thinking, what would his wife have thought when she saw it in the sport news or saw the picture in the paper. Or his mother. :D:D Or the guy himself, after he woke up the next day. :D:D:D
