Just wondering what your take is on nobody wanting to play friendlies w/ Yugoslavia?
One simple reason they are afraid of us! They know they will get their #@!# kicked

If I were as confident (or should I say stupid) as you, I would take advantage of the 25 to 1 odds being offered for Yugo to win Euro.

Vatreni , odds say nothing ...

Why are you constantly seeking conflict? I'm not trying to say that you suck because you're not in the top 10 favoured teams.....It's just a good deal. As sure as Govnar seems to be, I can't see why he would turn this down.

As for the Topic I've posted......I think that Turkey would be wrong to not play with you. Mixing politics with sports is questionable, and who are they to question? After all, they did subjegate you for 500 years, and as a result, a majority of Serbia's population today has Turkish bloodlines. Do you suppose the agression in Serbs today stems from your Turkish cousins?

Turkey, just like the rest of the world are to pansey to play a power such as the mighty YUGO...
I see how great Croatia is, drawing to such a shit team as Germany...

That's right defending euro champs, world soccer legends, the team that you couldn't put away despite being up 2-0 in France. A team which I've never seen badly beaten (except for 3-0 from yours truly). In a friendly, there's no need to beat them, they are very good friends of ours......letting them play us as warm-up to euro is a favour. Unlike Yugo, every national team is begging to play friendlies with us. (Spain, Germany, France, etc) In their own words...."it's a treat getting practice against the world's most talented players"
Vatreni your flame is extinguished. You can talk all you want. Lets look at facts. Croatia is playing soccer but only friendlies. Of course other teams want to play you. You are a practice team, a stepping stone for the real competition. May I remind you that your team will not be attending that competition. Vatreni, talk of friendlies all you want. Pull some quotes from your local village magazines. Relax, sit back and enjoy watching Euro 2000 on your TV. At the same time I will be there watching the game. Not to worry, your time will come too. It is just not now. Maybe you will be lucky and qualify for the next world cup. Oh and a word of advice, I hope that you now understand that shooting for a third spot in the group will not take you there. so talk because that is all you can do.

Seems like a typical Serbian response......."we're staisfied as long as Croatia didn't qualify" I won't make an attempt at understanding your logic, you did after all, wage losing wars throughout your whole history, and have continuously celebrated your biggest defeats (Kosovo polje centuries ago, Nato bombing not too long ago) If you're happy, good for you, I just find your mindset intriguing to say the least.
As for the Olympics not being a big event, you would know better if you were older than 12........ especially if you put it in the proper context ( winning Euro is not much bigger than winning Gold at the Olympics - the south americans are there ) In our case however, we should not kid ourselves....Yugo has no chance for winning Euro, Croatia is a team that knows how to win. In other words, winning a medal at the Olympics is surely bigger than making it to 2nd round of Euro.

VATRENI!!!!!
STOP BEHAVING LIKE A KID, WE SAID ABOUT 50 TIMES THAT WE DO NOT WELCOME POLITICS HERE!!!!!!
IF U CANNOT UNDERSTAND THAT
LEAVE THE FORUM!!!
Vatreni at the Olympics teams participate with U23 squads. At the Euro they participate with the full A team. You really are a funny kid first you tell me how Micheal Jordan in 92 (when Yugoslavia was banned by the way) said Croatia after the Dream team is the best. Since you seem like a person living in North America I can't help but ask you if you enjoyed Sacramento-Philadelphia last night. Your croat Kukoc was embarrased and out scored by our young talent Stojakovic and Divac had a triple double that game. You still truly in your loser brain feel like Croatia is good at basketball.??

Don't understand why I should leave the forum when you've promised your bum-buddies that you would get rid of me?
I was never really a Star Trek fan, but I do recall a group called "Clingons" as always being trouble instigators...... do you think the author modelled this group after the Serbian nation?
Vatreni

Govnar: It is insulting to place those names with the likes of Tony Kukoc.....once again, the Croat won multiple championships, is regarded as the greatest European player ever after Drazen Petrovic (Another Croat). The 76ers have been the best team in the NBA since they picked up Tony (with the exception of L.A.) Didn't see yesterday's game....I'm sure Sacramento will go further than Philly????????!!!!
And as for Grand Slam victories in tennis.....there are at least 5 Croatians which have won one of the big four tennis opens...the last being Iva Majoli winning the the French Open 2 years ago. As has always been the case, numerous young prodigees are doing very well too. As for Seles, she plays for U.S.A., I'm sure this is something any Serb would do right? She is Hungarian in case you weren't aware.
Mankind has invented many, many things over the past few centuries, one thing which still doesn't exist however, is a sport in which Serbs are better than Croatians......
Living in America you must also be aware that Croats in American sporting leagues and sports history outnumber Serbs about 10-1
It's not that Serbs are bad at sports, you're actually no worse than the average country, however, it is safe to say with a population the size of Croatia's, and our dominance in so many sports, we are the world's greatest sporting nation. This is echoed in the wars you've tried to beseige upon us aswell......if you outnumbered us 5-1 we would still send you back to serbia crying anyday.

Govnar: Jordan has been quoted as saying Croatia is the best Basketball country in the world after U.S.A. on many different occasions....... Alonzo Mourning made the comment about Yugo once, before playing against them.
Since this is a soccer board, have you ever heard Pele call Croatia the Brazil of Europe, and that they are the only team he would worry about Brazil playing against? He's been saying this since '92 when he said not letting Croatia go to the world cup is a major loss to all soccer fans.
Hehe you are a funny guy first off Micheal Jordan has never said Croatia is the best after the Dream team.If they were they would prove it and actually win an competition like we have many times in the last 5 years. Secondly Mourning said this before this years Olympics and probably last years woulnd't suprise me since we are the best in Europe and right next to the Dream Team. Pele saying Croatia are the Brazilians of soccer?? maybe they would be good enough to make Brazil's 4th team... One more thing Seles is serbian and during the air strikes she was really sad for her family and serbs having to take the bombing she was quoted saying this many times that "serbia is her home" since you like to work with quotes.

Brukas is a term I'm not familiar with, can you advise as to what it means? Is this a word you picked up from the Turks?

BRUKAS ? where did you live for the past 20 years my friend ? do you know how to speak serbian ? hmmmm
BRUKAS = emberass, talk nonsense

I have lived in Canada for the past 20 years....have got to visit Croatia on a few occasions.......Brukas is not a word we use
Obviously Vatreni if you have lived in Canada for 20 years you wouldn't know how to speak serbian. Brukas is a word which like Mihajlovic said means embarresed.

Vatreni ... brukas has been used in serbo-croatian since the serbo-croatian language even exists, but as i can see you're not capable of speaking it and i am not either, thats why now its called SERBIAN!

This is my first time posting something here but i have visited many times. I have also been on other sites such as xtratime.com and wldcup.com, anyway, the reason i liked this one most is cause you could read about soccer and not have a d**kh**ds like Vatreni come on and start provoking people. I don't care if i get kicked off but i just had to say something.
People like Vatreni are d**kless little turds. Vatreni wouldn't have the b**ls to say any of this c**p to a serb face to face.
Before Vatreni came on there was no politic's involved nor was there any provoking. All the other people were here such as Grobar, Mihajlovic, Omar and lots of others but they never provoked or talked shit like Vatreni.
I hope Vatreni doesn't get offended cause i am not trying to criticise or provoke him, just the same way he wasn't criticising or provoking us.
I am surprised that you know so much about Serbian & Croatian sports, seeing that you live in America i am surprised you know so much about Serbian History, too. Obviously you hate where you come, which is Croatia and can't stop thinking about what a great country serbia is and how superior we are to you. What you are actually doing is hiding behind the fact that you want to be serbian and you don't know how to express yourself probably........All you have to say is 'I am Croatian but I WANT TO BE SERBIAN'. Unfortunately, you are not good enough.
Mnogo pozdravlja od mene, i stvarno bi voleo da se upoznam stobom, uzivo...(cheers from me and i would really like to meet you in person).

Hi guys.
I probrably have no place in this forum as I am not that well versed on Yugoslavian or Croatian football. I am an Australian (born in England) and follow the Chelsea football club.
Is this forum only about grudges and hatred? I don't want to insult anyone here, but these forums are kindly hosted by the World Soccer Board for fans world-wide to come together and discuss the game we all love.
I have an Irish girlfriend and I know that there is often tension, but we are not politicians, so the bitterness between our countries rarley comes into play. Shouldn't it be the same in football. We are fans and loyal supporters of our clubs - not politicians.
I watched the World Cup on television and thought that Croatia played very well. This is not to say that I am a fan or biased towards them.
If the U.S.A. can play Iraq, without bitternes, then shouldn't the fans and supporters follow? I am not suggesting that wars will end with football matches, and I am not someone preaching peace without care for football. Completly the opposite!!!
All the players want to do is play football. While there is no doubt rivalry, but the player's play for themselves and their team, NOT to wage war.
It's all about the football. It is said that the Olympics is the greatest peace time event. Living in Sydney, I would rather host a World Cup. Surely it is the better competition? It is the 'world game' and the it is a shame to see people who follow it so divided. Country politics should have no place in sport - least of all football, but obviously it does. Pity.
I have said all I wanted to say, but will still read people's responses. Maybe everyone in this forum is against me and thinks that it is good that I should leave.
At least you'd be in agreement. Let's keep it about the football.

Aus Delija: It would be kind of fun to think like a Serb for one day.......to be a complete idiot and spew nothing but stupidity, while being convinced of the bullshit you're brainwashed by, would be a cool trip. However, to live your whole life as a Serb, after being brought up normally would definitely call for suicide.
I would really love to know how you can convince yourself that someone from Croatia ( one of the world's most naturally beautiful countries - by anyone's account, and land of superstar atheletes) would want to be Serbian (most despised nation on earth, most polluted country in Europe).
As for not talking like this when we're together....I would just like to remind you of the past times when you've forced the discussion.......As the sign says when you leave Jasenovac: "dodi te nam opet"

Dolazim, i ovog puta jebacu ti majku....Why is it when the Croatians are drawn to the last line, when they are backed up in a corner, they always bring up the subject of Jasenovac.
Once again i have to say, you would be too chicken shit to say any of that to a Serbs face.....cause you know you would get the shit kicked out of you.
Since you say that most Serbs have Turkish bloodlines, doesn't that make you Turkish as well because you do have Serbian blood, don't forget. I realise after your last posting that you don't want to be Serbian, the fact is you already are. Go do yourself and us a favour and kill yourself.
I you don't kill yourself then (as alot of other people have said) you can watch your favourite team Yugoslavia play in Euro 2000.
If you give me your address i will get a few friends to bring over the Yugoslav Jersey...hehehe....and they will remind you of what happened in Jasenovac.
