Maybe this thread should be the Nihat, Emre, Okan, Yildiray and all the other Turkish players in Europe thread :D :D :D
Ok Real Sociedad beat Barcelona 2-1 today and are still undefeated in La Liga, nihat played 85 mins. after coming back from a minor injury but he didn't score Darko Kovacevic had both their goals, Emre and Okan each had assist as Christian Vieri scored 4 goals and Inter beat Brescia 4-0  Our boy Yildiray scored a goal but Leverkusen still lost over the weekend. Overall this week was a very good week for the representors of our beautiful country ha? :silly:

when nihat plays, sociedad rocks everwhere and they know how to score with NIHAT.
emre and okan they both great.if cuper starts more with them to first11,i am sure inter will be champ of italy.they must play all matches.because their amazing skill is running.they can run all day.
yıldıray scores but leverkusen still is not in shape.
i agree with graveseends, the thread must be TURKISH PLAYERS ABROAD.

Sounds like a good week for the Turkish players abroad.
Although he is not Turkish.....Vieri getting 4 goals is very, very good.....but of course he had help from Emre and Okan!
And Sociedad is doing pretty good (well....a little more than pretty good i must say), with the help of Nihat.
And as far as Leverkusen goes....it is great that Yildiray got a goal....but they are in rough shape....unfortunately Yildiray isnt the only guy on the team....just not really a good season for them at all so far.

YEEEESS EMRE YEEEEEEESSS EMRE SCORES 2 GOALS AND LEADS THE INTER COMEBACK AS THEY TIE LEADERS LAZIO 3-3, WHERE DID YOU COME FROM HA?? :D :D :D Also nihat's Real Sociedad won again 1-0 to stay at the top and still undefeated, Nihat didn't score but I heard it was a pretty tight game, Okan got taken out in the 32nd min :( after Lazio made it 2-0. Yildiray had an assist in Leverkusen's 3-0 win over 1860 Munich. Another great day for Turkiye, we have the most beautiful girl in the world and our futbol players are reaching new goals week by week. Can't express the level of my proudness right now.

who can stop nihat i worry...
spanish newspapers write theat he has the same speed with ball.
his second goal was a great speed i have ever seen...
and emre did great too...he showed that he was better than saviola.
TUGAY RULES!!!!!!!.a great performance againts man utd in midfield.and blackburn beats 1-0...
agh;hakan sukur misses for next 8 weeks.what an unlucky player...
i hope for the healt for him.did u see any unluckier player like him?

I saw the highlights of Nihat on TV...and no wonder why Sociedad is doing so well....this guy is great! The Turkish NT will have something great with Ilhan and him up front. They will make opposing defenders pee their shorts!
And Emre.....he is just so talented...I actually just got an Inter jersey with his name and number on it! Inter has some great players, and Emre is one of the best out there...when he scores a goal they are always amazing goals....the one against Italy, the 2 against Lazio....he is just so great.
I was VERY happy to see Blackburn beat Man U. Tugay played very well, and Brad Freidel got the shutout! (Although he is not a Turkish player abroad....he IS an American player abroad who happened to play for a Turkish team...so he is worth mentioning)
And Hakan Sukur has to be the unluckiest player on the planet....finally finds a team...and he breaks his leg.....go figure. I feel bad for him.

yeah! go Nihat! Too bad they only tied though. You know what? I was watching Fox Sports World the other night, and on some show they have a feature called "maximum soccer" with this Max guy, who was stating his predictions. I like the Brazilian league, it's not like the any of the Euro leagues in many aspects but their futbol is great, they score plenty of goals considering they play as many games as the NBA. :D

i think argentinian league is much better than brazil league.
yes they kick scottish leagues and replace them with Turkiye Super League.
i dont care about the league rankings.its nonsense.in fact we cant make a classfication of leagues of the countries.because some teams join a foreign tournament and they may play a very strong team, and also robbed by referee as well.on the other hand a country can be lucky of draws then that country may be higher.

and if we look at for a very short summed the history of hockey in anadolu;
hockey was a popular game in Ottoman Empire in 1800s.and after TurkiYE FA was organized in 1923,the hockey lost it popularity.and now we are one of the top in football.here hockey is still played but at backs on the list.........
AND about nihat,he scored a wonderfull free-kick.never surprised.

Yes, we have had 3 games, and lost all three...we had our problems, but I think we are starting to get it together...we could have won our last game (we lst 2-4...4th goal was empty net after we pulled the goalie) And I have not scored yet...i have never been a high scorer...i am more of a defensive player (even though I am playing center now) but of course a center has to play defensively, and I do that pretty well. I am like the 3rd defenceman out there. :)
One time I saw on some hockey jersey website, that you could actually buy the Turkish national team's jersey. So their IS a national team, but besides that I do not know much about Turkish hockey, except that it is not near the popularity of football...and they are not exactly a world power when it comes to hockey (they have not produced any pros yet, and I wouldnt expect to see Turkiye in the olympics or top tiers of the world championships anytime soon)

Only time will tell, Okan is fast but some of his goals are lucky, I don't think he can be as good as Nihat. Nihat combines his speed and shot selection to make himself great. Okan just has speed for now. Tuncay is an all around player, he will do good things I strongly believe this. He sets up plays and scores when he has to. You never know look at Ilhan he's 26 and he started his futbol career late and didn't become a star since a couple years ago. Some players develop slowly then others.

After seeing Nihat play for the first half of the year I have to say I am extreemly impressed. Nihat, by the way, was controversial signing for La Real, (as well as the other foreign players) because he is not Basque and La Real, traditionally does not sign non-Basque players. I think that everyone in Basqe country now says "Eskerrikasko" (thak you for those non-basque speaking ones) Real Sociedad, is rfm San Sebastian, possibly the most beautiful city in Spain (of course, after Barcelona)
The other player I have had the pleasure to watch is Emre, so impressed with his speed and left foot control.

Real Sociedad has a small chance, I think, of being champions. My hated rivals of Real Madrid have it all in their favor. only three points behind, but most importantly only 1 game lost. It is hard to think that Real Sociedad won't loose any games this year, so I think that Real Madrid will win it. But, I think that Sociedad will come in second. It would be hard for Valencia or Depor to catch them.
I am rooting for them though, I love the city, my brother lived there for two years and I hope they win.

That's some good info barca, I didn't know Nihat's signing was controversial. Hey Real Sociedad impress once again by beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 who tied Real Madrid 2-2 the week before. This time it was the forgetten Turk on Real Sociedad who got the first goal of the game for Sociedad in the 46th minute Tayfun Korkut!! If it's not Nihat Tayfun fills in:) Darko Kovacevic who is also having a great year scored the second. about senol,i think he is a very good coach, yes he has made some mistakes in wc2002 but he is just geart.we came wc with him beating austria on 6-0 agreete.
he was also the coach who brought Trabzonspor closer for the championship.
he also did great with trabzonspor as a coach in euro.remember before galatasaray,Trabzonspor was being shown the most succesfull team in euro cups.

SOCİEDAD FALLS
damn, real sociedad has lost yesterday 3-0.it was the first defeat.
but they are still at top and if we think that r.madrid tied we shouldnt be so sad.
it may be the worst match of nihat.he couldnt do anything under hard-marking by 2 defenders.
it was a really very very agressive match.many players had fighten obviously.
kovacevic-karpin couldnt keep themselves and nihat as well.
SO AFTER A KİCK NİHAT WAS SHOWN A RED-CARD ın86.mınute
tayfun didnt play in this match.........
TORINO:0 INTER:2
ınter beated torino with a away win;2-0.first goal was scored by vieri and the other one was scored by OKAN.it was okans 2.goal in this season.
his first goal was againts roma.okan had played 86minutes.emre put presure ofcourse again and he played 90+2 minutes.
okan showed that he can do better for inter instead of conseciao.....
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO B.LEVERKUSEN?
b.leverkusen has lost again.they are in deep.
our star player bastürk was shown ared card as nihat and it occured in 6.minute.
b.leverkusen has lost 2-0 to dordmund.....
it looks Baştürk is going to leave after season for a top club and i think it will be a very good decision:thumbsup:
i am not able to tell moreinfos about the outher Turk players who play in Bundesliga, sorry.

Damn sociedad lost...i guess it was bound to happen...Its ok though. Its not the end of the world. They will come back!
And yep...Inter won.....Okan with a goal...woohoo! great for Okan!
And Leverkusen....man do they suck.
They just can't win a damn game. Terrible. I know last game against Cottbus, Basturk was suspended....so he comes back from suspention, plays 6 minutes, and gets kicked back out...the man just can't get a break!
But yeah....If i were Yildiray, I would have my bags packed already, and take the first decent offer out of Leverkusen, if he ever wants to win again!
And Blackburn lost too eh? :( Too bad. Looks like Big Bad Brad didn't have his best game.

Yep...To be frank, Leverkusen sucks this year. You are right...after Ze Roberto and Ballack went, it was all downhill. And if Yildiray goes...its going to be worse unless they replace him (and it probably wont be someone better). They also lent Landon Donovan back to San Jose, so he wont be there to play some midfield. Hell...Leverkusen could even be relegated next season. Sorry ass team they are right now.

Well....good players play on bad teams. Leverkusen sure is a bad team. But how could they go from being good to being so bad?I mean they have been wicked bad this season. They just can't win a game. I can imagine Yildiray will be out next season. I hear Arsenal and Man U want him.
What did he get a 3 match ban for anyways? Damn he has been suspended an awful lot lately. Must be that frustration from playing on a wicked bad team...

Omg hopefully he DOESNT go Man U can't handle that team and hopefully Rustu doesn't go ther either. He got a three match ban for tackeling a player from behind it was his first match back from his suspension from before hand and in the 6th minute as well! I think that's harsh i mean he possibly couldn't have caused THAT much damage could he?? :/
Hopefully Yildiray leaves soon im sick of hearing how terrible they are i mean they lost to the last team in the bundesliga 3-0 thats got to say a lot. Neway my main concern is that he better be in the first eleven line up against England lol i just can't wait for that match.

All he did was tackle from behind? And he gets 3 games? He must have really taken the guy out. But 3 games IS harsh. I can understand 3 games MAYBE if he got in a fight or something....but 3 games is a little much.
I wouldn't really want to see him play at Man U either. Can't really say I am much of a Man U fan either.
I hope he is in the starting line-up against England...he is one of the best players they have...BUT I dont know if Gunes would see him as a "liability" because lately he has been prone to getting thrown out, and suspended.

Yeah it will affect Leverkusen the most. They have enough problems anyways though.
Speaking of Leverkusen...they recently signed to some deal with DC United...i dont know what kind of deal it actually is...but it is...a deal...maybe free transfer of players back and forth of both teams...so maybe if Yildiray keeps getting suspended they will banish him to DC United! :D
As for the match against England...he SHOULD play...because it IS against England...but looking at it from a coach's point of view, Gunes could be saying "This guy might do something stupid to force us to play a man down against England"...so we will have to wait and see.

Well...I am sure BJK was interested in Yildiray...but he did say he was never going to play in the Turkish league...so its safe to say that won be happening. By the way...the whole Leverkusen team should be banished the way they are playing. I say let the reserves play...maybe they will play with some heart.
And here is what I would do if I were Gunes...I would start Yildiray, but I wouldnt play him the whole 90 minutes. One yellow and he is off.

Eh...I hope he leaves...Leverkusen is in really bad shape...they lost again today against Bochum (of course Yildiray is out on suspention...but he isn't the whole team...they probably would have lost even if he was playing) That whole team is in bad shape from the coach on down. NIHAT is just plain great, he scored 2 goals for Real Sociedad today in 5 minutes but they lost 3-2 by a late penalty with 4 minutes to go shit!!! But Nihat coming back from suspension is still red hot with his scoring. With Inter Emre didn't play because of his injury and Okan was redcarded unfairly by that scumbag referee and will probably get a suspension too. This week a lot of fun action coming up. Congratulations Nihat again and again making us so proud out there. Just proves that Turkish players can do well wherever they go just as long as they work hard.

For Roda JC plays a right defender who is half Dutch, half Turkish, his name is Sonkaya and if Turkey is smart they soon let him play a international match. The guy seriously is a great player and I expect him too soon move too a bigger club, last year he was already too join Ajax, it didn`t happen but he totally outplayed Van der Meyde against Ajax and after that he is more closely observed and he keeps on delivering great work.

Real Sociedad won 2-0 against Osasuna today Darko Kovacevic scored and someone else I forgot who. Nihat played in the starting 11 but didn't get one today, he picked up a yellow card in the 81st minute. Inter beat Piacenza 3-1 with Inter scoring 3 goals in three minutes WOW!!! Emre is still injured and Okan was serving a one game suspension for his red card last week.

Hasan Sas who has been out of the last two Galatasaray games due to injury or as many believe he's just being left out cause he's not playing well and wants to leave, has rejected an offer from Fenerbahce and says it's either Galatasaray or Europe. I don't know I miss the Hasan from the World Cup he was just awesome and I know he can do it again on a team where he's happy. I think whichever team gets Hasan is going to get very lucky because he will be one of the best on that team.

Hakan Sukur played in his first game for the Blackburn Rovers as they beat Manchester City 1-0. Hakan didn't score but it seems he played pretty well according to this article from Soccernet
"Rovers, for whom chances had been scarce since the break, finally launched a decent attack and Sukur was poised for his first shot when David Sommeil made a crucial intervention.
There was more frustration for Fowler when he rolled a shot past the post from 20 yards, but then relief for City as Andy Cole wasted a chance to wrap the match up.
Sukur's perfect knockdown should have seen Cole at least test Nash, but he tried to cut back inside again and was tackled. "

This is not good for nihat as he will be playing against low quality players(although their are some big names) and will be coached by very low quality and inexpierienced managers/rainers

Yeap! He also owns CSKA. How else he is gonna laundry the money? Thas why there is rumours that saying after a year in CSKA he'll move to Chelsea otherwise why would CSKA would sign a 23 months contract. Chelsea is gonna have to pay money to CSKA because he'll have a one more year left in his contract so this way he can laundry his money too! I mean would you sign a only 2 year contract with a player like Nihat? Not to lose him I would sign him for at least 3+1 year!

He had his second hattrick of the Bundesliga over the weekend and got his goal tally up to 10 goals and he sits at the top of the Goal Scorers table, actually he's tied but since he's Turkish he gets the tiebreaker :) He's kickin some ass over there, that's what I like to see.
Halil Altintop is a GUN!! So is his brother, Hamit. They both KICKASS!
haha kool go the brothers!! ;) is emre playing currently for mewcastle or is he still injured??

Emre played in teh second half of saturdays game vs Wigan. When he stepped in Newcastle were far more dangerous and he even got a guy red carded because of a clumsy foul. Emre is great when healthy and also I hear that Fatih Akyel had a great game for PAOK in their win over Olympiakos 2-1, that's a surprise.
I still won't want Fatih Akyel at BJK..
id want gokdeniz karadeniz if trabzon are selling him...

Sahin scored his first international goal as A team member against germany , only 1 minute into the game ! His goal was the winning touch of Turkey's 2-1 victory
Yeah, he is an absolute champ.

There is so much more to come from Emre, Newcastle should be so thankful they secured the signature of a player who is one of the best going around.
yer man ur right, he shud become captain soon! :D HAHA

No way!
Turkish international striker Halil Altintop will join FC Schalke 04 from Kaiserslautern on a free transfer at the end of the season, the Bundesliga club said on Sunday.
Altintop, who has signed a four-year-contract, will join his twin brother Hamit at Schalke.
'He has done fabulously at Kaiserslautern,' Schalke manager Andreas Mueller said in a statement. 'He was the dream candidate for our attack.'
Altintop, 23, has scored 13 goals for relegation candidates Kaiserslautern and is second highest top scorer in the Bundesliga behind Werder Bremen's Miroslav Klose.
Schalke are fourth in the Bundesliga, 13 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Newcastle have approached Spanish club Real Sociedad with a view to signing their striker Nihat Kahveci, according to the player's agent.
"We've started talks with Newcastle. They called to ask about Nihat's situation," agent Ahmet Bulut told the Sunday Sun newspaper.
Bulut, who was involved in bringing Emre to St James' Park, added: "Newcastle must first find an agreement with Real Sociedad."
and i thought he was going to moscow...

No he is not going to Moscow yet. No agreement has been reached. Right now Sociedad having talks with Villareal about his transfer. Deal with Spartak Moscow
would only be for 6 months and Nihat himself does not want to play more than 6 months in Moscow.
Nihat's agent said " Newcastle never contacted us it is just a rumour. Nihat will become a free agent this summer and for that reason many clubs decided to wait until June to start the talks with us. Sociedad wants to make money and only way they could get some money is if Nihat is sent to Russia and most likely that is what is going to happen . Nihat will return to Spain 2006/07 season with another La Liga team Villareal!
yes a transfer to another la liga club would be better than going to newcastle for nihat...he wud not b able to play his best football there...i hoppe he gets transfered to a great club...i dont think he shud go to moscow in any case...

emre is the best turkish player abroad, Nihat has the most potential and Tugay is the most consistent.
yes emre is the best player abroad but his reputation has been trashed since the swiss allegations. Nihat had alot of potential but i think he has gone downhill since his early days at real socidead and he can do alot better than he is right now. Tugay did well for himself in the epl and i always like the style of his play, to bad he isint in the national team nemore, but why did u write about these players only?
