View Full Version : Joaquin: I Don't Feel Appreciated At Betis

Real Betis winger Joaquin is disillusioned at the way contract negotiations are going as he looks to extend with the Manuel Ruiz de Lopera club.

"Real Betis don't appreciate me in the way they should," he said. "Money isn't everything in life, but it is important, and Betis aren't giving me clear answers.

"Before renewing my deal I want answers. I don't feel appreciated here and before signing a new contract I want some guarantees."

I think the player should be given a chance, he's excellent.
opinion anyon?

He´s still being paid a youth team salary, if I´m not mistaken. Betis better act fast, or else the big guns will come quickly. Lopera is a very rich person, so if he wants to keep the kid for at least some seasons, he should be able to.

I'd APPRECIATE it if Joaquin were to go to Barca. :D

go to Barca and get wasted like Riquelme? no offense Barca is great, but many of it's players should be given a chance, Riquelme, Rochemback...the list can go on

Riquelme isn't being wasted. That is such a foolish notion. Look at how Aimar and Saviola were introduced to Spanish/European football and how they are/have turned out. The season is about 15 matches old if you include all competitions and there are still plenty of opportunities for JRR. Besides, he's started the last 2 matches and if you consider Lucho was selected in place of him earlier in the season, LVG's decision makes sense. Lucho has as many goals as anyone on the team. I would prefer Lucho and Riquelme out there together though.

Azul, I get your point, but Saviola and Aimar were given time and chances to play so that's why they adapted to the Spanish football and play in excellent forms, but giving Riquelme only 2 chances, how is that going to help him adapt to the style of play? I know it's still early in the season but still he should get more chances to play.

Back to Joaquin, I´m sure Madrid can show him some appreciation. Sweet.

Only 2 chances? Are you watching the Barcelona from Peru? I didn't know they had a player named Riquelme too.

G, he's had plenty of opportunities to play. He's played the entire second half of a couple of matches he didn't start. Besides, Lucho is in front of him and is the club's leading scorer. He's playing now and will continue to play, and that's what counts.

Kinda like the appreciation they've shown Hierro, Morientes, Guti, Makelele and Macca?

Yeah, but how long were those second half times he played for? 30 mins? 25 mins?
he needs to start the games and then you will see what he's able to do. when he started the CL match, he scored a goal. give him a chance and he will be better than Lucho.

Riquelme has already played 2 45min game and started in 2 games now and will probably be playing agst Gala in the starting 11. VG is slowly integrating him into the team, I believe. Plus in the begining he had some injuries and also have to travel home to his wife during the birth of his child. So far there is only 8 matches played in La Liga and everyone is so impatient. Aimar came to Valencia in Dec and only play about 4 games or so to the end of the season.

Don't worry, everything will come good!
cheers

I guess it all depends on what do they intend to do with Julio Alvarez in the future.

He's getting his chance, PERIOD! I know two of those sub roles were for the ENTIRE second half.

I'm not saying he isn't or won't be better than Lucho. I want to see both Lucho and Riquelme in the starting lineup.

three weeks left? ;) :D
Seriously I got no idea about his contract but I hope he'll be in charge for a quite long time ... he's one of the best coaches a club can get IMO. :star:

Who knows. Hopefully things go well as Bier says and he stays a while. After he's done, I'd like to see Koeman become the next Barca manager.
