First of all, I hate Van Hooijdonk, have to be honest.

Frank Rijkaard? Is that a joke? He left after the EC, Louis van Gaal was his succeeder, he was fired when he failed to qualify for the WC. Now Dick Advocaat is boss, Willem van Hanegem is his assistant.

Why Van Hooijdonk is benched?

Firstly, we have Kluivert, Haisselbank, Makaay and RVN.
They are better.
Secondly, Pierre is the best free kick taker in the world, he can score penalty kicks too, but let`s face it, he is a very bad player. His technical skills are terrible, his condition is not good enough, his heading skills are below par and his ball control is ten times worse than mine.

But I think he´s rely goos, or least, Feyenord is 2x time better with him.

Yes they are, pretty sad actually, althought they proved agaist Juve they don`t need him, they did lost 2-0. Actually they only need him because of his free kicks and penalties, for the rest he is under Feyenoords standards.

We have several players, Frank de Boer is in my opinion the best free kick taker. Van der Vaart can take them in the future.

Davids is a midfielder not a striker, it is not his skill. He is not only a fighter in the field (and some claim also outside) but also a very technicly gifted player.

He played for Juventus, but I think he was tested positive after the trip with the Dutch NT.

He played for Juventus, but I think he was tested positive after the trip with the Dutch NT.

The bench is the best position for him in the NT since Makaay, JFH, RVN, and Kluivert are all better. Van Hooijdoink is can be a good sub when the team is winning or when they are resting other players but I think Van H is a decent striker, not the best but good.

As far as the spot kick business goes for the NT, here are some candidates: F. De boer, Seedorf, Overmars, JFH, and Cocu.
