I have written about Aalesund FK on the net for years now, but nothing I have ever written about can be compared to the events that happened for AaFK today. After a season the fans have dreamt about for years, where we made it to the semifinal of the cup, we today got promoted to the top league of Norway. This is no small thing I tell you! Ålesund city is the biggest city in Norway's history to never have had a top league team in Norway. It is not that AaFK, Ålesund's best team have been so bad, they have just never gotten all the way there. As proof that AaFK is not a bad team, you can just look at the fact that AaFK is the biggest team in Norwegian first division history(it was called the second division until the 90s, when the Norwegian Football Federation changed the name of the top league in Norway from 1st division, to Eliteserien). That is of course partly because Rosenborg and Viking has almost never been on the second highest level in Norwegian football, but it still says that AaFK has been up there, fighting for promotion for many many years.
Today we beat Sandefjord 5-1, in front of 8700 spectators, a record for Kråmyra stadium in the last match ever played there, since it will be torn down, and another stadium will be built on another site in front of next years season.
I am so HAPPY!!!!! :) ;) :D

You won't believe this! The match started at 13:00, so we left from home at 11:00, to be there in plenty of time. A few minutes later, as we were about to drive up to the hill where the stadium is(Kråmyra is about 250 meters above the main road I think, and 350 meters above sea level). However, the policeman that was guiding the cars, refused to let us drive up(even if he let all the cars in front of us up) So we parked the car, close to the road, and walked up the hill. Nice roads to walk, but it was quite steep, and cold air and anticipation, made it a strange experience. When we finally got to the stadium, at about 11:20, the stadium was already completely packed!(Kråmyra has one main stand, a semi big stand behind one of the goal, a small one behind the other goal, and on the other main stretch, there is NO STAND, only a hill with grass and mountain on it). Of course, the other people I went with, stormed to the hill, as all the places elsewhere were taken, so we had to climb up the slippery surface there. When we finally got to the top of the hill, me and Cristina were fed up, and left my brothers behind, and went looking for new places. We went to the end of the hill, and down on the other side(quite a climb!!), past the other goal, past the main stand, and back to the first goal, which we at first had passed on our way to the hill. Finally we settled down there, standing just to the right of the goal, close to the corner flag. We had gotten some decent places, but we had to stand. The mood of the crowd was electric, and all the players seemed really psyched before the match. One of the supporters, were interviewing some of the players and coaches out on the field before the match. When he asked Sandefjord coach Tom Nordlie about the result, he quickly added: "Oh, 4-0 to Aalesund, that's a very good prediction", and then he took the microphone away from Nordlie, and left.
The match started very tense, and both teams got to big chances. Sandeford had a cannon shot from 10 meters go over, and a big chance where Mathiesen made a brilliant save. AaFK had about just as many chances, and nothing was decided, and then suddenly on a AaFK attack, Frode Fagermo got the ball on 20 meters, ran up to the 16 meter line, and shot a high shot, beautifully into the far left corner of the goal. AMAZING! 1-0 :excited: A few minutes later, Tor Hogne Aarøy got the ball outside of the box, and struggled his way in towards the 5 meter line, where he could cooly place the ball behind the keeper. 2-0 ;) Halftime, and AaFK was on their way to the Top league!
When Frode Fagermo, a few minutes into the second half, sent a shot with lightning speed into the top of the goal from 10 meters, the stadium, the players, the city, and especially Frode Fagermo exploded with joy. 3-0 PROMOTION SECURED!!! After that it was all over, a nice solo run by Hermann Ekeberg to 4-0 :) (a freekick for Sandefjord to 4-1 :o), and a hardworking Hoseth putting in 5-1, to crown a beautiful day!
8700 people celebrated, and I know that there are thousands of fans other places in Norway, that couldn't possibly make it to the match, because they live in Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen or other places.
I am so happy now, I can't explain it!!:
