It sickens me to see that our sheeply neighbours New Zealand are organising matches in Europe and actually playing them. What is going on! We all know there are money problems at Soccer Australia, but what about sponsorship? Is anybody doing anything about the terrible state of the true national team? It is a year since our full strength side played which seems incredible in a sport mad counrty so proud of our National teams that we can't organise one bloody game, what a disgrace! Somebody do something! The game against Romania, is still up in the air because of TV rights so I wouldn't hold my breath. What about a game against England, has anyone tired to organise this definate hit! The interest and the revenue would be huge as we have a team that could really trouble the old enemy! A yearly match, one in Australia one year the other in England the next, this would be fantastic. It would help give us some meaningful games before the next world cup which will come faster than people think.

too true bout not getting matches but why wold england want to play us? they get all the friendlies they need and their europe and world cup qualifiers. the money would be good for aus playing england but really their is more to lose for them if they lost to us. scotland found out this 2 years ago! i wanna hear more bout the tv rights cause i heard em say harldy anythiong on it on the world game. if romania doesn't g ahead then i'd quit if i was frank. we had games vs italy, USA, portugal and now romania all organised for this year. good way attracking money when we don't play. why would anyone wanna even try make a match with us when we agree but pull out!

Especially games with footballing powers like Italy and Portugal we wouldn't have made losses. How does SA expect Farina to get the socceroos into the WC if they don't play? It was their obvious problem in both qualifying for France '98 and Korea-Japan '02. When will they learn the lesson? They are pinning all their hopes on direct qualification. We risk embarrasing ourselves if we do qualify and never play together.

the thing is new zealand know that if we get direct qualification they are a big chance for the world cup! they are working at getting better! they could be there before us!

I liked Farina's idea (when he first took over) of having a "home away from home" where the Socceroos play their home matches in foreign stadia like Elland Road or something. That way the overseas players will definitely turn up.

What I think what Farina meant was if the Socceroos can't get decent opposition they shouldn't play. Then again, why can't we line up the likes of France and Czech Republic more often?
