Today I read on the BBC and Soccerage websites he criticised Scottish football. Easy to do ofcourse, but his argument was this one:
The big teams in Scotland play with 80% percent foreigners.
? Isn`t he one of the trainers who made a habit of importing players? Who is he to criticise, if he does the same thing? Isn`t he ruining English football, or does he think from France`s development perspective? He sure is helping his own nation, but not England.
I didn`t only open this thread for this not so smart outburst of him, but also for his outbursts in the near future. They will come, the better Arsenal is playing the more stupid he is behaving.
I`m an Arsenal fan, believe it or not, but the way Wenger is behaving doesn`t please me.
If you hear more outburst of him, post them here, or discuss his recent outbursts.

of course he help Arsenal we have some good english talents in the club like Pennant, and Ashley Cole and other ones on the youth squad that will become great players...
Wenger was simply responding to direct questions -
Q"y hasn't he signed any scottish players?"
his answer he has had a few scouted and they haven't been as good as other players that were available
he was then asked y he thought there weren't any scottish players good enough to play for arsenal and he answered that Celtic and Rangers played with 80% foriegners and it was hard for scottish players to devlop.
Not exactly an outburst.
+ the difference between England and Scotland is Enghland has many big clubs (even in the lower leagues) and Scotland has 2 if u aren't playing for the old firm then u are playing for clubs with no real expectation of winning anything - if u look at wengers signings they are virtually all winners with experience of winning trophies and the expectation of winning more -it is hard to foster that type of attitude at Kilmarnock or Motherwell

I know Arsenal have the talents, but he has to give them a chance to fit in. If he keeps buying (foreign) players to replace players who leave, how can the young players grow and develop to become good players. I know you have to have each position covered, but young players don`t get enough chances. Why not give a talent a few matches to learn and step in?
In each line Arsenal have players who can teach players something, you can learn when you are training, but the best lessons you will learn when you play under pressure, like you will play when you are experienced. I`m not saying they should play every match, but in a team playing so well, it would be a smart move to let more young players get a few minutes. Ashley Cole is indeed a good example how it should happen more, I agree.

Not necessarily on this topic, but Arsene's always talking out of his ass. Viera could literally kill someone on the pitch and Wenger would moan about how innocent he is and he is being targeted by refs.

I`m an Arsenal fan, but this result will proof to be a positive one for Arsenal. Wenger should land back on earth soon.
Great goal of that young Rooney. 16 was he? he plays like he is 10 years older. He is really good. Nice for him. Scoring your first EPL goal in the 90` minute against Arsenal while the score is 1-1.
And heīs quite fitting with the topic of this thread. Itīs not likeīs a complete absence of young talent in the British Isles. Quite the contrary, it seems.

You are absolutely right. Always nice to see an actual British talent shine in an EPL match. Think its great for English football.
I just know Rooney will be one of the biggest stars in the future. Not a very hard guess.
Any idea if he likes Amsterdam? :D
I was there, I'm gutted
WE NEVER LOST WE JUST RAN OUT OF TIME
if Rooney had scored 4minutes earlier we would have equalised
we were punished for accepting a draw but it is very hard to accept defeat when you are only losing for 1 minute of 90
the unbeaten run (and unbeaten away run) is over but a lot of it was last season. We need to focus on this season.
last season we finished unbeaten away - we cannot repeat that. Our aim for this season has to be a 100% home record which we have achieved so far or if we draw 1 to be unbeaten(Blackburn, Sunderland (in the Worthless cup) Scum, Villa, 'Boro and Liverpool left to come this year)
We still have a 100% record in the CL (and no goals conceded)
we missed a playmaker yesterday -someone to pick Everton apart. They held a high line and compressed our midfield, a brave tactic with the pace of Henryalways a threat, and it came off. We could not find a pass in behind them all game. Whether this closing game would have worked with Pires tearing forward on the counterattack his ability to find a pass while running at pace would have been key. I also think with Bergkamp in the side the sheer accuracy of his passing would have picked Everton apart, one of Freddy's late runs would have been spotted and fed.
A great result for Everton all respect to them and David Moyes game plan came off to a tee. They didn't deserve to win and evenly balanced game but we didn't deserve to win the game that we fluked 1-0 at Goodison last season I guess this evens it out

Perhaps players realise again they have to work to get great results. Its good they get that message soon so they realise this beforte the 2nd round of the CL. Football is always if if if. Football is just unpredictable. Wenger thought Arsenal could go unbeaten trough the season. That is insane. The EPL is to competitive to do that. Nothing is lost however, they gained back a realistic manager.
Wenger AIMED to go unbeaten - if u aim for the stars u will at least reach the sky. We are on a terrible run at the moment (3defeats in a row!) but it all starts with 1defeat and its impact on players confidence.
a manger is always aiming for the perfect season what is wrong with that?
Itīs wrong when you think you have a realistic chance of that happening.
last season we were unbeaten away
NOBODY at all thought there was a realistic chance of that ever happening again (Preston North end did it in a 14 team leagu,e in the century b4 last)
yet we went to Anfield, Old Trafford, St James Park etc etc and came home unbeaten AN AMAZING FEAT that may well never be matched - if wenger did not believe we could do it, if our players did not believe they could do it - if they had been more "realistic" and accepted it was inevitable we lose a few then WE WOULD HAVE. Believe is everything - every top club will aim 2b unbeaten at home. That is a realistic target for a title winning club. Last season we were unbeaten away - you have to hope u can at least match and hopefully improve on your previous season. Even now after several defeats I believe Wenger was absolutely right to aim that high. In fact I hope he believes we can win every single game for the rest of the season becasue if he doesn't believe it can happen then it won't!

Here we go again!!.
Whether you are a gooner or not, lets get ONE thing absolutely straight.....Arsene Wenger is a manager of a RESULTS BUSINESS!!. If Arsenal lose matches while playing so called Young English ( or come to think of it, Scottish ) inexperienced proteges, then I wonder what the 'fans' would say.
Look, Arsenal are the top of the cream BECAUSE Arsene has looked for the BEST players, NO MATTER WHERE they come from - and GOT them for Arsenal. The fact that there are NO Scots is immaterial, are you saying that there is ONE Scot who is better, Position by position with the players already playing??? - Give me a break.
And what about the Brasilian players he has brought to the club??
Silvinho, Gilberto, Edu - He rescued Kano and Vierra. He was big anough to sell Anelka, Petit , Overmars, Manniger etc.
The ONLY Scot at Man U is Alex himself I think ( maybe someone will correct me - as if I care ) .
And Liverpool are not exactly flushed with Scots are they???. Even Rangers have less Scots than The Isle Of Skye.
Come on get real everyone. The ONLY reason pple bleat is because Arsenal are now top dog and there to be shot at.
A GOONER IS NOT FOR CHRISTMAS - A GOONER IS FOR LIFE
