I seriously think that Emre will grow up to become one of the greatest central mids in the world. He's got a good vision, not to mention, an attacking flair that no one can supress!

A pretty good left foot too, he can become a Recoba of the future, if he puts in enough effort in that field too!!

So, I ask you ppl, who know the most about Turkish football - what do you think of his future?

Do the Inter fans like Emre and Okan?? I always read in the Turkish newspapers that both of them get heavy criticism in the Italian media. I like Emre a lot he loses his concentration fast though you probably notice that already though. Of course being Turkish he is a little hot headed like all of us but he's a little crazier than most. I remember in the world Cup when he almost kicked the shit out of the Costa Rican coaches and staff for not giving the ball to him at the touch. I say he's good but not as good as Yildiray when he stays on his feet and stops DIVING!. Just kidding Yildiray is my boy.

Basturk is awesome and is the best player on the Turkey NT

Emre is great too and I prefer him to Okan (not that he sucks). Emre is a real competitor and being small he always fights for the ball and goes after players, he also has a good shot and great vision. He's the future for Inter and Turkey.

LOL! He does have a temper that's for sure. I remember in the Uefa Cup semis last season he was ready to take out Pierre Van Hoijdonk. It was hilarious because he's so small compared to PVH. Can't blame him though, PVH just annoys the hell out of me.

I think he's a good little player. I think if he had more opportunities at Inter (along with Okan), they'd impress more. Emre still has room to improve though. He'd be better off at a different club where he'd get more playing time.

Gpower....you can hate them all you want...but saying they are sh*t is wrong....well...Sukur sure has been playing like sh*t.....but lets put that fact aside....Emre and Okan are playing for a top italian club....so they obviously dont suck. like i said....hate them all you want, but you cant deny the fact they are pretty damn good football players. (yeah Emre is a bit hot headed...but he is tough...plays with alot of heart...alot of the times hot headedness comes with that...) He should be playing much more at Inter...especally being young....and having alot of potential. He will never reach his full potential if he dosent play and develop his skills. His full potential could be real good....but he needs to play more!
Yildiray Basturk is very good too...even though he is a diver....but you got to do what you got to do....right? It may be cheap...but someone's got to take the dive sometimes...

eh...id say it was good for them to leave for the most part....if they feel they have accomplished all they could playing for Galatasaray...money is tempting too of course...maybe it wasent so good because they dont play much, but if a higher profile team like Inter Milan was wanting them to play for them...i dont blame them for going...its opportunity

If they went to Real Madrid or Manchester U or Arsenal and sat on the bench I wouldn't mind but this is Inter we're talking about here, their midfield is weak without Emre and Okan, all they got there is Recoba.

Yeah they should play more...because they are weak at midfield. Infact, i dont really understand why they sit.

Emre and Okan also some offers from other clubs which are ready to give Galatasaray ca. 10-15million $. But they said that they want to go to this sh.t Inter because of f.ckin' sukur.
Soon Hasan will do surely the same.
I don't care about how they play it isn't important for me.

Doesn't matter if he's hot headed. He still rocks, and besides, in a tense match, there are few players who can restrain themselves, the younger ones especially.

Yeah, I think that he's the future of Turkey, and the perfect mid-man, the one that Inter have lacked all these years.

Yeah, you hate them 'cause they had to think about about their future, right? You hate them 'cause they left Gala to become better players who'll become the leaders of the Turkish team (Emre especially), right? You hate them because they wanted to excel in the toughest league in the world, right?

Great!! Just great. It just shows how little you care for football as a professional game. It shows that you're just a mindless fanatic who would walk around with his eyes closed and nose in the air refusing to believe that there exists a world around you!

Yeah, you guys shouldn't be pissed at them. I'm sure it's frustrating, but you'd do the same in their positions. I'm sure they left on good terms anyway. You could have had a Ronaldo! Besides, they could return some day. Just look at Ajax and Jari Litmanen and Aaron Winter. Similar situation. Jaris is still LOVED by the Ajax fans.

I am Turk, so don't take this the wrong way other turks.

The turkish league is crappppppppppp!
They're still learning how to play football.

Emre did the best thing for his future. Going to Italy at a very young age and soon he will be Turkey's maradona. Not basturk or sas.

Okan is rubbish, he hogs the ball too much, never passes. Icini ediyor. He kills great oppurtunities.

As for Hakan Sukur, since the first time I saw him played I said he is not a soccer player he is crap. Gees hasn't he proved me right. Cakal sukur. Cause Turks are generally short, Sukur is 1.9m tall and get's all the high balls. He can be top scorer in Turkey but anywhere else ? NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember when he was at Torino, he said he was homesick, poor baby. If you have a dream of being a professional footballer you want to play against the best to prove yourself. In Italy you find the best, in Spain you find the best. So why would Hakan be homesick, because the fans told him he's shit and Torino said get lost to him, you're crap.

But Turkey's future is in the hands of players like Emre and other players who play overseas. By playing against the best your skills improve. That's why Alpay, Tugay, Basturk, and Emre are so highly rated in Turkey

gravesends are you on drugs or something.

The person to thank for Turkey's success is Fatih Terim, he raised that bunch of players. If not for him we would still be getting beat 5-0 by crap teams like England.

And let's look at it seriously, the only formidable opponents we had were Brazil. Senegal, Japan, Costa Rica, China, South Korea, all SUPER POWERS of football. hahahahaha.

And looking at it seriously, hadi the first game that south korean idiot screwed us. But in the semi-final, you watch the game very carefully, Brazil ran riot against us, they could have won by 5 or 6. In case you say we had the ball, Brazil played counter-attack and had about 10 99% chances.

Don't get me wrong, I love my country BUT you have to be realistic.

Now to speak of the Turkish league, Fatih Terim, Hagi, Popescu, and Taffarel brought that success to Galatasaray. Only one Turk in that lot and he isn't even a player, he's the coach.

Galatasaray are impressive in the Champion's League, but let's take a look at last season.

Since the 1960's no team has been eliminated from the Champion's League group stages without getting a point, then along comes Fenerbahce. They couldn't get ONE point. Six losses, you call this brilliance.

Do you get my point. There is still a lot that we have to learn. I know my country's people very well, we live in a small black box, we don't see what happens outside and thus we are the best.

To be the best you have to work hard and LEARN FROM THE BEST.

You're a traitor my man, how do you come up with all his bullshit?? Senegal beat France and everybody liked their chances over us as they did with Japan and then even for the 3rd place game they liked Korea over us, but our teamwork is unmatched. Did Ilhan come up under Fatih Terim, what about Rustu, Serhat, Yildiray. Obviously all the English media hype about their own country is getting to your head over there in Australia. Obviously you're still living in that as you called it little black box. You're not a true Turk, you have been brainwashed and can't even see the progress we have made since Euro 2000. ulan salak, how dare you call me a traitor.

I live in a little black box, huh?

The turkish league is so great show me how many teams have been successful in the champions league.

Prove to me that Galatasaray would have won the uefa cup without hagi, popescu, and taffarel.

My friend if these are your replies about football then you know NOTHING, zilch, 0% about football.

Me brainwashed huh, I would love nothing better than for my country to be number one, not just in football but in everything.
The problem is I am REALISTIC. I see things for what they are.

Are you actually talking to me about Serhat Akin, the blokes shit, I saw him play, he run's around like a headless chicken, much like Michael Owen.

The best prospects for Turkey's strike force are Ilhan Mansiz and Umit Karan.

Umit Karan scored against some of the best defences of Europe, playing by himself up front for cim bom. Yet Senol Gunes the racist bastard left him out for Hakan Cakal Sukur.

Kopekciler wanted Hakan Sukur in the team but by the end of the world cup they wanted him out.

Politics still run people's lives in every aspect in Turkey, that's why the talented players are leaving. So that they aren't fed bullshit.

Alpay's famous words when he went to Aston Villa were "I learnt what it meant to be a professional footballer here(Enlgand)"

One of Turkey's best players said this, do you get the drift? Alpay is saying that the Turkish league ISN'T professional.

Salak I'm saying that to be the best we have to LEARN FROM THE BEST, and clearly we are not the best.

Refresh your memory, as I said before Brazil could have beaten us by 5 or 6.

Before the world cup France played us in a friendly in Istanbul and beat us 4-0.

I don't think I need to say anymore to you. Before you reply to me YOU should learn what football is.

Maybe the part where you grew the southeast part where you had your views screwed up by kurds they live in a small black box but anywhere else people do know whats going on in the world. Even if you go to some of the little villages in Turkiye some people dont even care for futbol. Most people are out to bring food to their families. but for the people in the cities its different. I played futbol since I was four. Dont give me your speeches on the game. By the way congratulation on your 2-2 tie with Macedonia yesterday.

so I gather from your response you admit that you don't know anything about football.

No replies to any of my statements.

And don't call me a f*ing pom, those bastards tried to wipe out Turkey from existence.

You played football since you were four, huh?
So what, diego Maradona was the world's best footballer doesn't mean he can coach a team, he failed as a manager.

Oh also I started playing at a younger age, I was born playing football.

Alpay admitted professionalism in England, and all those poms know is kick and let Owen run around like a headless chicken.

Turkish players are suited to the Spanish, Italian and South American games. The sooner we get more players playing in those leagues the better the national team is going to be.

You still haven't proven your point that there are 5-6 top quality teams in the Turkish league. I went and saw Anakragucu play their first game of last season. They won by some score, and them quality, don't make me laugh.

When are my fellow country men gonna wake up and see reality. We were lucky in the world cup that we didn't come up against France, or Argentina earlier, lucky that they were eliminated.

Yeah we did kick Senegal's ass, we didn't exactly smash Japan, South Korea we smashed, Costa Rica made a mockery of our team, and we beat a ten man Chinese team by ONLY 3-0.

These are the truths.

Nonetheless, there still are TOP quality Turkish players, such as Sergen Yalcin, Tugay, Alpay, Emre, Umit Karan, Ilhan Mansiz, Bulent Korkmaz, Rustu, Hakan Unsal, but that's about it.

I can't as of yet comment on Nihat cause I haven't seen him play.

And you gravesends I'm not gonna say your a yank, or an anglo-saxon descendant wannabe, I'm just gonna say you are another typical Turk who has his head in the sand

dam10 you say that Turkish players are suited for playing in Italy?? wrong the best league out there right now is the Spanish League without a doubt, I also like the Bundesliga our players are more fitted to play in one of these leagues. See the success that Yildiray has, Emre and Okan play similar games to Yildiray. Also where did you start playing futbol I hope not in Australia cause if so dont even have this conversation with me, I started playing in Turkiye, Eskisehir to be exact and back then Eskisehir was challenging Galatasaray for the top spot in 1. Lig, their youth team was great and I would have been on it if it werent for my father wanting to leave. I cant blame him though I have a ton of cousins back home and they all are struggling except for a couple who are engineers for the biggest Helicopter company in the world. Ulan you guys are mindless idiots.

There are three classes.

The top, middle and lower.

Turkey is in the middle, NOT THE TOP.

The current Top Class International teams are, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, and Holland.

gravesends do you know what is special about the Italian League, it is THE BEST defensive league in the world.

I have seen teams attack for 85 minutes and not score a goal, while the other team gets one chance and puts it away. Thank you very much game over.

Yes everyone would prefer to play beautiful attacking football, but it's too risky. Brazil scored their goal against us then sat on their asses and defended.

There defence, basically, had a really easy night. Because we are not yet at that standard. Yes we do have the potential, our young kids are very skillful, BUT youth development is the problem. That's why I want our players to go overseas so they can learn from the best and be better.

Oh by the way gravesends, I've played with and against people who have been in Fener's youth team, Cim Bom's youth team, Besiktas's youth team and believe you me that don't mean shit.

Mate we had one bloke, just this year come from Turkey, he said he played in some second division team and everyone, not just me called him rubbish.

Also my dad trained many people back in Turkey who ended up playing for Besiktas, I have his influence in my knowledge of football as well.

One team, GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT. For years our Turkish coaches have taught 10 men in defence and one man up front. Remember who that used to be Tanju Colak. England would beat us 5-0 and laugh at us.

ten years have passed and things have changed haven't they. Cause some of our coaches seeked OUTSIDE ADVICE.

This all started by me saying our youth players need to go overseas and that the Turkish league isn't as powerful as what us Turks make it out to be.

Some idiot said "why should they go overseas and sit on the bench when they can play in the turkish league and champions league". What a salak this bloke is. Professional players must only turn up to the game, that is no training.

gravesends, I just wanted to add this in. In the early 90s the world youth championship was held in Australia. And how us Turks down here were looking forward to seeing the newly crowned under-21 European Champions perform in front of us. By the way that team was Turkey.

Do you have any idea what it felt like for us here to see Turkey lose 5-0 to USA. A US team which had a greek striker score three past us. Do you have any idea?

I copped it bad from the greeks. and so did many other Turks. What could we say in reply? nothing.

Crowned Europeans champions and we lose to a team like USA 5-0. A country that , at that time, didn't even know football existed.
