Predictions for CL and Domestic

Interested to know what r your predictions for Ajax in CL and in the Dutch league.

I think with abit of luck we could make it to the quarter finals of CL and definitly win the domestic.

I was much more optimistic at the beginning of the season. However, I'm a bit less now due to injuries and other happenings at the club. Van der Vaart's injury is a blow again this season. He was on fire when he went down. Fortunately, Litmanen has come back and will be a worth replacement. He's also a fan favorite and that always helps. He's hurt too, though I don't think he'll be out as long as VDV. Then you have Mido who's made some rumblings about leaving the club and Machlas who fell out with Koeman. Both of those situations seem to be under control with Mido making an official apology, but that sort of thing never helps. I do think that it is very clear to EVERYONE in the club that Koeman is in charge. Injuries have also hit our keepers. I think at this point we're down to Timmer as Didiluca and Steekelenburg are now hurt. This could be a short term hindrance. Heitinga is also hurt and Chivu has a niggling injury problem.

I guess what i'm trying to say is that we can win the league and progress in the CL to the next round, but i'm less optimistic with the bad luck the club has had thus far. PSV will be our rival for the Eredivisie title, and while progression in the CL is important the Eredivisie crown should take precidence.

PSV? their selection is so poor! Only the 'as van het veld' (=waterreus hofland van bommel & kezman) is a threat but PSV definitely lacks quality in general.

No, Feyenoord is your rival for the competition title. :cool:

CL is more important than the domestic title, for any club in minor competitions like the Dutch one ---> $$$$ + status.
and Ajax has been the champ last year so they will definitely focus on CL now.

Monte is right in a way, the CL is great for us in terms of the $$ and recognition. This will help us afford and attract better players. I don't think PSV r much of a threat, I'm more worried about Feynoord.

Ajax do have a few problems, but the results from the 2 competitions r still very good. These problems will not take long to be resolved. The only bad luck I really think we suffered was against Inter, that was our match!!!

I`m an Ajax fan all my life and I think Ajax will win the league, but you can`t honestly say that PSV has a poor group. I don`t like them, but they are good.

Exactly. I rate them above Feyenoord too. I see what some of you are saying about the CL. I just get worried that they may get too caught up in the CL this season. It should be considered a season where we get our feet wet in the CL so to speak. However, the group is now wide open and I think they should go for it.

I think that Ajax is the best team of Holland then PSV,Feyenoord,and Heerenveen...

You are right, even though Heerenveen are in bad shape. I would also put Vitesse and NAC on that list. And Roda JC.

A win versus Feyenoord tomorrow will go a long way to securing a CL spot for Ajax as Feyenoord will be 8 points adrift and there are only 2 CL spots available this season.
