Ajax lost again today and it seems they are losing their grip on the league.
Whereas Feyenoord and PSV are improving, the second part of the season should be interesting. :D ;)

nice, they seem to establish themselves in the eredivisie.
you know, ten cate was one of the names the hun federation dropped on the search for a new national coach, he knows hungarian football quite well, and he is doing a good job in breda obviously, 5th place seems to get more and more realistic

Tough draw today vs Breda. We're now in second as a result. Nice to see Mido back in the squad though. Hopefully he keeps his mind on the football and not his wallet. Zlatan scored again. Hopefully he'll continue his early season goalscoring exploits.

Although ofcourse the result doesn`t please me, the way we fought back wasn`t that bad. To bad Heitinga picked up a serious injury, which could keep him out of the game for up to six months.
Chivu also injured himself, he might miss the CL match, but let`s hope he will be fit for the clash with Feyenoord, next sunday. Litmanen is out for sure for the CL match against Rosenborg.

I agree. The fightback is a positive. Hopefully that spirit sees us through the injuries. What's with the injuries anyway? Hopefully we can keep the squad healthy for a while. Any timetable on van der Vaart's return?

Ajax always has problems with a lot of injuries. Hard to say what the reason is, could be that young talents have to play to many matches and train to much. I don`t really know, to be honest.
Nice coincidence that today on tv they discussed the injury problems of Ajax. They thought like me that our young talents play to much matches and train to much.
I don`t know about Van der Vaart, they said it could be up to ten weeks maximum, so its very doubtful if he gets to play in the first round of the CL. Perhaps its the way we play, very technical with a lot of quick turns and sudden moves. I don`t know, but we have to find out the reasons.
Is it a coincidence that both Van der Vaart and Heitinga played a lot of matches when they were in young Ajax, both for Ajax and the Dutch National (youth) teams. Van der Vaart is way to much injured, thats a huge problem for the development of Van der Vaart and Ajax.
I don`t know exactly when Van der Vaart is back, when I hear more on the progress of his revelidation i`ll definetly let you know.

The only obstacle between Ajax and the league is PSV. PSV are still a very good side as they've retained all their stars from last season and they've also brought in Hiddink. They will have it easier than Ajax too if Ajax advance in the CL and PSV don't. I'll take the CL though! It'll be good experience for Ajax.

Yes we miss him, especcialy because Litmanen is also injured currently. Lets hope Van der Vaart gets back in 8 weeks, but you can`t rush it, he is to important to take risks with. Better safe than sorry.
Very positive is that Chivu could play against Rosenborg tonight. He seems to be recovering fast and thats a great thing, because we really need him. He is truly a unique player, I hope Ajax can convince him to stay for a bit longer, to build a team around him and Van der Vaart, who could stay one more year. Litmanen could be a big factor, I think Van der Vaart could learn a lot from Litmanen, and Van der Vaart might be young, but he is smart enough to realise that.

Big game tomorrow. It's the Dutch Derby. If Ajax beat Feyenoord they'll be tied with PSV for the top spot and both teams will be eight points clear of Feyenoord. That's important because Dutch clubs will only get two Champion's League places starting next season.
Litmanen could be back for the game, which will be good. Stekelenburg is another possibility, but more doubtful.
Koeman's comments:
"This match is particularly important because Holland will only be able to enter two teams in the Champions League next season, meaning an end-of-season 3rd place is no longer good enough"

Indeed a big game, I`m happy to say that Ajax has a good record away against Feyenoord. I`m very confident, althought it will be very hard to beat them. Litmanen probably will play, I`m pretty sure of it, but I don`t think Stekelenburg will play. I think Timmer will play, who last year was on loan to Feyenoord. Nice detail. With al our other keepers injured, question is who will be on the bench. Grim? :D Zwinkels? (Something like that, youth player.)
Next year we have indeed 2 CL spots, which means it is a fact that one of the big three will drop out. This is no small matter, both financially as sportively (word?) Matches between the big three therefore are important. I`m sure with the results of Feyenopord and Ajax we will fight back to that extra CL spot in one or two years.

We won today our away game against Feyenoord. Stekelenburg and Litmanen both played, Van der Meyde and Sikora both not. (sick and injured) Ajax played a good first half with a very good Zlatan. He was very good in protecting the ball and was a constant threat to the Feyenoord defence. At half time we were
2 goals ahead, scored by Wamberto and Litmanen. It could and should have been a lot more, Ajax had a lot of great chances. Feyenoord created chances to, not as many and harder chances. This was a surprise since the first twenty minutes were balanced and without chances. The second half ws balanced and after around ten minutes Feyenoord scored to give hope again to the till then fairly quiet fans. Feyenoord got a few good chances but couldn`t score. Van Persie hit a free kick against the bar, Van Hooijdonk proved once again he can take great free kicks and good penalties but is almost useless in play. He did score the 1-2, but he could walk it in. Ajax got some chances to, but also missed. The last ten minutes were played out professionaly to earn themself a deserved victory.
A great result and very important for the rest of the year. With an equal amount of points as PSV (16) and already played against Vitesse and Feyenoord away, we did great business today.
Compliments to Trabelsi, Chivu, Witschge, Litmanen, Zlatan and wamberto for a great match. Boukhari wasn`t bad either replacing the injured Wamberto in the first half. Great result.

Great result is right. The midfield sounded very tight from what I read and it sounds as though Litmanen is stamping his authority on the squad. A good sign I think as they can learn and benefit from his experience and leadership. And how great that he scored one of the goals, against Feyenoord too!!! Nice to hear that Ajax created a lot of chances. I always think that's important.

He wasn`t very convincing in the first half, but in the second half he played good. Well, he is just back from injury, he still didn`t get a chance to get himself really fit, not since he came to Ajax. Don`t forget he almost never played more games in a row for both Barca and Liverpool. He will get there, but we can`t leave him out of the team, we need him bad now that Rafael van der Vaart is injured.
On a positive note, Van der Vaart has resumed light (only walking) training. He is aiming, according to a Dutch newspaper, to be back on time to play the CL match against Inter. It is expected it will still take atleast a month before he is really fit.

Ajax played RKC Waalwijk today in Waalwijk, and drew 1-1.
Chivu was sent off for pushing the broken through Hoogendorp.
hoogendorp scored from the free kick. Shortly after that the match was delayed due to problems with the Ajax fans, who where attacking the ref (Temmink) with some bad, bad words. After about 12 minutes the match resumed, a minute later in the 72nd minute, Maxwell scored. Ajax could have won even with ten men, but a draw in Waalwijk isn`t that bad. Too bad we didn`t take our chances though.

Boring match or not, you're right that the three points are the most vital thing. Also, a 3-0 result is nice too, albeit two of the goals came late in the second half. VDV scores again, and just off of his injury too! He is amazing.

We have over 50 contract players. Thats way to much. Since the entire squad is talented, you always will have to make difficult chances. A few months ago Ajax released Hose and Vierklau, thats a good start. Salary costs are through the roof.

Yes, especcialy lately Van der Meyde is great, he had a bad spell for a while. He is back now and playing great, also goes for Galasek and Trabelsi, you know, Mickey Mouse. :D
It is nice to see we proof Feyenoord and PSV wrong for claiming that playing in the CL has a bad and noticable effect on the league. Ofcourse it has some effect, but if you have a good group like Ajax does, not just 11 players, you are capable of competing both in Europe as in the league.

Did you see the goal?, it was beautiful like always. He is a great buy from Adriaanse. :)
The Valencia scout who attended the match wrote his name down. Sensible mood, Galasek is a real threat with his great free kicks and long distance shots.

With every goal VDV scores, Ajax should increase his price tag by 500,000 euros. This kid is absolutely on fire and i'd love to see him at Barca someday. i think he will join Barca n two years, tpogether with Koeman, they are both worth the wait. :0 He already gave us silverware last year by single handedly keeping Ajax on track for the title, too bad he was injured the last months of the season. A victory and we gave the youngsters a run out. That's what I like to see.

They can gain vital experience in these matches, good preparation for a possible first team spot.
Ajax will meet Roda JC. Roda beat NEC in sudden death.
Nice matches. :)

today Ajax couldn`t beat De Graafschap on "De Vijverberg."
for Ajax scored Mido, for De Graafschap Zafarin. Mido got a red card for no reason, well jiust one, Temmink (the ref) is an idiot. Graafschao were denied an early penalty though. all in all 1-1 is a fair result for a hardworking De Graafschap, who I also follow with big interest.
Big downers were light injuries for:
Van der Vaart
Didulica
Sikora
Already injured:
O`Brien
Timmer
Lobont
Litmanen (flue)
Trabelsi
Van Damme
Chivu
Heitinga
Suspended for CL:
Chivu
Galasek
In short we are in deep, midweek CL against AS Roma, in the weekend we will meet PSV in Amsterdam. :(

I have to say that I just had a shitty day. Then, when I come home I see this. VDV's injured, AGAIN! I'll take a draw vs Roma and PSV if we can get them.

Van der Vaart will only be out for a week which means we will miss him against both Roma and PSV. :( Litmanen will be fit, just like Trabelsi. For other players I don`t know yet. Sikora is definetly out too. I will post the other injuries and fit players as soon as I find it out. It is still not certain how many players of the list I mentioned will make it too play against AS Roma.

Ajax lost at home against PSV today, 2-4, and recorded their first loss of the season. :):):):):)
PSV take over the first place from Ajax.
Scorers for Ajax were Zlatan and Van der Meyde, for PSV Robben, Kezman and Vennegoor of Hesselink (one guy) 2X
We seem not equiped to beat PSV at our own stadium in the Dutch league. :(

Yeah, what's up with that? A frustrating loss. I would have gladly taken a draw myself. We still have injuries though and Chivu was just coming back, so it's not too bad. There's still a lot of time and we can still easily win the league.

Chivu played this match, went of injured after only 8 minutes. :(
As soon as I know how long he is out I will mention it, thank god the winter break almost arrives. :)

In the last match before the winter break Ajax beat Excelsior 2-0 in an away match. Ajax played the match out as pros, obviously wanting the holidays. Or needing them. They are 2 popints behind league leaders PSV Eindhoven.
Goalscorers were I think Zlatan and Van der Meyde.
On this picture a happy Chivu and at the same time the reason Ajax is looking too sell him. :D:D:D
Just kidding ofcourse.

Ajax beat Willem II today in an away game with 0 - 6. :)
In Ajax first match after the break we were superior and never threatened.
Goalscorers were Van der Meyde, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2), Chivu, Galasek and Mido.
Wesley Sneijder made his debute. :)
He won`t forget this one. :)

A great result, albeit against Wilhelm II. Six of the best is always something to be proud of. Nicely to see Wesley get a run out.

Normally Willem II actually is quite tricky, but they really were crap yesterday.
Still, too score six you need some qualities. :)

Yeah, good game for Ajax, I'm Belgian so I know Chris Janssens quite well, damn he's become bad  I think 3 or 4 goals were his fault... And Geert De Vlieger... What should I say about that... he's our national keeper :dontcare:
Nice game for Sneijder, I saw he really tried to score on his debut... would have been nice ;)

I wouldn`t worry about De Vlieger, weren`t really goals he could have prevented.
Only his mood could be bad, my God were those Willem II defenders crappy.
De Vlieger is playing below his own level.
Yes, he almost became the next too live by the Ajax tradition, it was deflected on the bar.
I must say, that Janssens always is a bit unhandy as it seems, but overall he isn`t a bad player, but sunday, was pretty bad.
Oh bloody sunday. :D
Nice detail is BTW that the Willem II stadium was sold out for the first time in two years. :D:D:D
Atleast they saw some goals. :)

Ajax is through in the Dutch cup quarterfinals by beating Roda JC at home 1-0. Zlatan scored. Not much too say, Ajax started great and aggresive, scored and played the match out on half strenght, came tricky at the end with a few chances for Roda. Zlatan Ibrahimovic went of with a minor injury but could make it for the big match this weekend, against Feyenoord at home.
that's a decent result, at least we got the win....
now this weekend it's gonna be good.... we have to beat feyenoord; they beat PSV at philips stadion though!

We have a good record against Feyenoord, both in away matychews and home matches, even though our huge injurylist I can`t be too worried, it is an important match for Ajax, only numbers one and two of the Dutch leagfue get in the CL, so if we beat them, knowing we already had them away, we would be in a great position, we also already had Vitesse away and if I remember correctly also Heerenveen away. Only PSV away will wait for us as difficult match, but we are recently better in away matches against them.
1 - 1 draw...... goal by zlatan, and the feyenoord dude was totally pulling chivu!
i got up in the early morning to see the game!
wasn't a beauty, that derby, for too many hard fouls. Dirk Jol shouldn't allow that.
Although feyenoord showed an massive attack in the first halftime, ajax got in leadship by a great Zlatan goal. Unfortunately the equalizer from feyenoord came just at the end of the 1 st half. In the second halftime ajax showed more, I've missed VDV ( is he injuried again?), although Pienaar's perfomance was on a good level. Again very good also Chivu and Trabelsi.
However, wished an ajax win, but have to say, a draw was honest imo. :smoking:

First twenty minutes we got played of the field, our midfield was completely helpless, mostly due lack of agression on the ball and unsharp play of Ajax. After that we got better and better, our goal was nice although somewhere I feel that there was offside involved, Feyenoords goal should have been dissalowed, Van Persie clearly pushed Chivu. Second half Ajax was better and after a few chances for feyenoord Ajax hit the bar two times. a shot of Boukhari, pretty impressive between two defenders, and by Van der Meyde after a good attack of Ajax. Pienaar was my man of the match. Also Pasanen, Chivu and Trabelsi were impressive, Van der Meyde in my eyes failed again, even though he had an assist. I would like too plead for Boukhari in the starting line up instead of Van der Meyde.
Van der Vaart was still injured, he said he hoped too be back today, but appearently it didn`t work.

Saturday we beat Groningen at home with 2-1, scorers were Van der Meyde and Zlatan, we played reasonable but obviously with our heads at another match, we were lucky that Groningen in the closing stages of the match didn`t got a draw, even though the Ajax win is fully deserved.
Only problem now is too get a group of 18 players for the arsenal match in London, we still have a big squad, but half is injured.

Sorry for posting it so late, but ajax lost 1-0 too Utrecht on sunday. The match played in Utrecht wasn`t of high standard and was played on the edge. Kuijt scored for Utrecht (just signed for Feyenoord, as if his winning goal isn`t enough) and both Van der Meijde and Zwaanswijk of Utrecht got send off.
Next up is Vitesse in Amsterdam. They are without some key players and in our home stadium it should be expected we win the match, but seeing the attitude vitesse showed recently, it won`t be easy.

Ajax beat Vitesse today in the Arena with 2 - 0.
Ajax was better but seem too be not willing too score, with especially Zlatan Ibrahimovic not seeming willing too score. (Could be lack of challengers for first team place. :D:D)
Pienaar scored twice in a reasonable game all together, we just missed too much chances, besides the points, biggest win was that O`Brien was back, consequently our biggest loss was Maxwell out injured, which gave O`Brien the chance too come back, good he is back.

Ajax beat Zwolle with 0 - 5 in Zwolle today.
VDV, back in the starting line up, :) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both scored twice.
A Zwolle defender made a hilarious (unless you like Zwolle ofcourse) own goal.
In midweek Ajax beated Groningen too reach the semis of the Dutch cup, Sneijder (first Ajax 1 goal) zlatan Ibrahimovic (2X) and Boukhari scored.
In the cup semis we will go too Rotterdam too play Feyenoord in De Kuip. Other semi is between Utrecht and PSV.
