Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone can help me with regard to the Eredivisie's Club Card system. I want to see the Vitesse v DeGraafschap match on 18th December 2002 but have been told it's a Category B match.
Does this mean i need a Vitesse Club Card to buy a ticket for this match ?
How much do Club Cards cost and how can i buy one ?
Is there a scheme whereby neutral fans can buy a temporary Club Card for the day of the game (and then buy a ticket) ?

I hope someone can help as I've emailed Vitesse a couple of times and have yet to recieve a reply.

Many Thanks,
Ste H

I really should know this, since I had a season ticket for Vitesse for a couple of years, but I don`t. What I do know is that in Holland a few weeks before the match there will be given information if it is a free sale match or not. Free sale means you don`t need a clubcard.

This is a local derby so it will be tough.

I just visited the official site, it said that there were only extra tickets available for season ticket holders.
To be honest things look bad for you.
I will try to get more information, things are complicated with ticketsales here in Holland.
You will hear it soon.

Thanks soccer fanatic - I've had similar disappointing news via email so it looks like i'll have to find a Vitesse season ticker holder whose prepared to buy an extra ticket for me....pity you don't have yours anymore!

Yes it is. I know you would have loved it. Vitesse matches at home breathe atmosphere, especcialy in derbies. I had no time to call Vitesse yet, but I will. As long as you hear nothing of me in that matter, it`s bad news.

In Holland we have had lots of problems with the fans. This is why the regulations are so strong.

How do you know Vitesse?
Looking to see a special player?

Hi soccer fanatic,
I've just received an email from a very helpful guy from the Vitesse Supporters Club which is a bit more hopeful on the ticket front. I've now got a few options to sort through (buying an extra ticket from a season ticket holder/ buying a 5 Euro Vitesse Temporary Club Card) and am 75% sure of getting to see Vitesse v DeGraafschap.
I've watched Vitesse (and the rest of the Eredivisie) on the Eurosport programme Eurogoals for many years and remember players such as Blinker, Mackaay and Machlas. Since Euro 2000 i've been interested in watching some Eredivisie games live and was impressed by the Gelredome.
The only current Vitesse player i know is Dejan Stefanovic who was at Sheffield Wednesday about 5 years ago - he was a good player then but a little young to make an impression in the Premier League.

Thats great! :)
He obviously knows a lot more about the way to get tickets than me, so you can probably trust him. I`m happy for you, you will have a great time, I had a great time for around three years. (and a lot of seperate matches)

Match against De Graafschap is always great to watch. Its a true derby and the atmosphere will be superb. :)

Especially the first option (buying an extra ticket from a season ticket holder) sounds very hopefull.)

About the players you mentioned: I had the privilige to see Machlas every homegame in his golden boot winning season when he scored I think 34 goals. After every goal they played some Greek music and the crowd went wild. Mackaay was to early for me but he plays great currently at Deportivo la Coruna.

Blinker never played for Vitesse (I think) but you probably meant you saw him a lot in Eurosprt, playing for Feyenoord.
Stefanovic learned a lot and seems to be very happy playing for Vitesse.
Stefanovic is the best player at Vitesse right now. Barca even were interested in him last summer. He gets a lot of cards nowadays...

Players to watch: Theo Janssen, one of the biggest talents of Holland.
Ruud Knol, great defender, young and promising.
Nicky Hofs, not as big as Theo, but getting better as a midfielder very fast.
Mustapha Riga, youth international. (like Hofs Knol and Janssen.)

Vitesse currently has a very young team, with some already great players. (Bob Peeters, Belgian international, DJ Martel, underrated French midfielder/winger, Stefanovic and goalie Jevric and new purchase Rankovic.)

in december they should be played in so they will be better than right now. In a derby players always reach a higher level, so you are in luck!

I hope you get your ticket, good luck, for more info, just ask! :)
