View Full Version : MIdo wants to leave???

According to an interview Mido gave to a regional tv-station (AT5)
he wants to leave Ajax in the winterpause. He`s unhappy at being early substituted in the match against Groningen. (Because of lack of form and no passion, I believe it was.) Also he just find out he will not start in the match against FC Zwolle on Saturday.
He said that it was 100% percent sure he was going to leave.
It seems he prefers Italy and England.
Last year this happened too on a smaller scale. He changed positions and played very good. Things look worse now.
Lets hope he can be talked out of this, since I`m not making this up. NOS TT also made notice of this so it is serious. I myself can`t receive AT5, so I got it of an Ajax site, very trustworthy. If the NOS makes notice of this it aint a lie!!
Lets hope Koeman, Chivu and Litmanen can talk it out of his head.
Then again, do we still want this man in our team, he`s behaving like a little kid.
Maybe we should kick him out.
This is nice. Zlatan is believed to be involved in a barfight and now Mido, three days for the start of the CL starts to complain.
This really is true. Dutch people who don`t know this should check NOS teletekst.
If I hear more you will be the first to know.

Although no one seems to care, a small update:
Mido is not in the squad to face FC Zwolle on Saturday. :)
Machlas is back on the bench as a result. :)

Another small update, probably the last one.
Mido has formally apologized for his comments on AT5.
He apologized to both Beenhakker and Koeman.
Mido will not be part of the squad to face Olympique Lyon.
He will be back the wednesday after.
Lets hope he finally learned of his mistakes and starts to act like an adult, although he is only 19 years old.
Lets hope this whole thing has no affect on the CL match against Lyon.
Litmanen had a good debut, Ajax won 2-0 to Zwolle.
Witschge and Chivu (pen) were the scorers.
I still can't believe how Liverpool and Barcelona treated Litmanen- a world class player (how many CL goals did he get for you in his first stint at Ajax?!) I've only seen Mido play a handful of times but he always looks good on eurosoprt highlights. In order to be a big success in the EPL he would have to increase his upper body strength and learn to use his height better.

I agree, they treated him not great.
But he was injured a lot when he was at Barca. And by Liverpool Houllier (and for a short time Thompson) thought Heskey (hahahaha) and Owen (I understand) better. What can you do?
But Liverpooland Barca never gave him a real chance. If he plays one match every month he can`t get any feeling. He didn`t deserve it, because he always acted like a pro, no insults to anyone, no matter how frustrated he must have been.
But now he`s back where he is loved.
He scored, I think, 13 CL goals and 126 goals in 224 matches, which is unbelievable for an attacking midfielder. He did took the penalty kicks.
I didn`t see the whole match against Zwolle, but in the 15-minute summary it looked like Litmanen played great. Lets hope he keeps playing like this. I`m sure he will.
I`m already convinced that he`s a enormous asset, with his experience and great instincts.
His upper body strenght is not great, but he doesn`t really need it, because like Dennis Bergkamp and Rafael van der Vaart he is great in positioning.
His whole way of playing looks like the way of Bergkamp.
Not that strange since they both come from Ajax and are number 10`s.
Mido normally is great but he lacks the commitment to work hard, especially the last weeks, Maybe he is getting bigheaded. He does have all the talent he needs, he just have to act like an adult.

Mido has indeed apologized. I like the fact that he was quick about it too. Not a lot of players would have apologized. I'm still VERY disappointed in his behaviour though. He is still very young and I think that both he and Zlatan have some maturing to do. Hopefully they will get their heads on straight and start to focus on the football. They both have brilliant opportunities this season with Ajax and Koeman isn't the type to put up with any bullsh1t.
Sorry about not posting fanatic, I was outta town all weekend.

I remember him being oft injured for Barca too. The other thing was that they had a big squad at that time and with Figo, Guardiola, Rivaldo, etc it was tough for him to then solidify his place in the side. Why didn't figure more for Liverfool i'll never understand. I'm just glad he's back at Ajax where I think he'll be very happy and will have an opportunity to once again show he's got what it takes.

Yes he was quick, but Koeman was for Dutch tv very clear. He said that if Mido on Sunday (day after the Zwolle match, where Mido was left out of the squad.) still said that it was a 100% he was going to leave, he would be trown out of the first team. Koeman made no secret of his disappointment in Mido, so he gave him no choice.
Earlier in his career with Ajax he did the same thing, once he flew to Egypt(!), without asking in the middle of the season. He has to stop this, before he goes to far, perhaps Mido finally realizes that.
Other possibily why Mido apologized is that if he didn`t he wouldn`t play anymore and it would be harder for him to get a transfer to another team. A good one, he probably find one but surely no good one.
Other thing is that he now Koeman brought to Mido`s attention that he will get benched in Italy, Spain or England. He seemed to be under the impression that in one of those countries he would always play. (How stupid can you be?)
He proved he is not an Ajacied, and never will be. He showed no respect to us and just sees Ajax like a stepping stone, that hurts.
If he loved Ajax he would never said those things 3 days before the important CL clash against Lyon.
And although we need him, I think Koeman is right not to include him in the CL squad. Zlatan plays like crap, (except on training, but who cares about that?) and Machlas probably doesn`t even remember what a ball looks like, which is a shame because I think he plays better than Zlatan at the moment.
The biggest plus is the way Koeman came trough all this. He showed he is a very good coach.
Again a long post, but there is room enough here. :D

Koeman is a good manager and has done the right thing. I never knew all of that about Mido. I'm very disappointed. It's too bad we such talented young strikers whose heads are so big while their brains are so small! Zlatan better not play like crap, he's in my CL team.

I couldn`t have said it better.
Maybe against European he can perform better. He did against Celtic. At least its sure he will play against Lyon. Don`t you get points for that? :)
I`m still searching for that league... (From your PM right?)

I`m going to (try) right now, had to eat first.
Zlatan will probably score, question is if he will play if Mido is back. I think he will in away games, as Ajax probably will play 4-4-2, except Rosenborg. I hope he does score. Hehehe.
soccer fanatic when I was talking about upper body strength I meant Mido not Litmanen - Litmanen is1 of my favourite playrs pure quality
no I meant if Mido moved2 the EPL he would need 2b strongr - I think he needs anothr season at Ajax to improve
2many young players abandon 1st team football for a squad place at a big club and nevr play. Instead they should stay another season and establish a reputation that would guarantee a greater share of first team football.

My mistake.
There is not much wrong with the upperbody strenght of Mido, he has to work harder on the field. I agree with you on the rest. (Players leaving to soon to join a team in a bigger league)
Could you do me a favour and tell that to Rafael van der Vaart and Chivu? :)
Oh, and Koeman ofcourse. :D

In my defence, Zlatan really didn`t play as good as he did against Lyon. Maybe in pre season matches, but not in the Dutch League.
Almost everybody knows Zlatan has the potential to become a huge star, he just never showed it. I saw him play in a lot of live matches and summaries, but he never reached this level of play.
If he can maintain this level of play he showed against Lyon, Mido will get a tough job competing with him. :)
(Same goes for Machlas ofcourse)
I might have made a joke about him and he lossed a lot of respect from me, but Mido is still a very good striker. Koeman will pick who is best, so they have too work hard to get a place, both of them.
Maybe you knew Zlatan better than I did, I sure as hell didn`t expect him to play so well. I knew he could do it, he has the potential, but I didn`t expect it. I`m very happy with it ofcourse. :)
Lets hope this is his breakthrough, if you know what I mean.

Zlatan still has a lot to improve though. He still needs to mature as a person and as a player. I actually defended Mido a few months back when some of us were having a row about Zlatan. If you dig in some of the Ajax threads, you may be able to find it.

What Mido did to Ajax was awful. I will support him as any Ajax player, but he will never reach the status of true ajacied.
If it happened once or twice I could live with it, and I did, but this is too much. I don`t hate him or anything, he just disappointed me, there is no return from that.

Agreed. Now I won't care if he's sold soon.

LOL! We should. :D
unless Zlatan goes on2 have an extremely succesful career the thing I think I will most remeber about him is the Sweden v Senegal match in the World Cup - he showed some great skill to break a couple of tackles on the right and get into the box (against Coly of Lens I think) then rather than passing to Henrik larrson to give him an open goal and send Sweden through to the World Cup Q/finals (it was golden goal extra time) he decided to shoot near post, unbelievable greed, he clearly cares more about himself than the team and wants to be the hero. Obviously Silva the senegal goalie saved the shot then Camara scored a winner for Senegal. Unless Zlatan's attitude changes fundamentally he may well be a skilled and well paid player but he won't be part of a winning team.

I think you are right.
Its a good thing Koeman is his coach, Zlatan will listen to his advice. in the Dutch league you can see he is improving more.
He is less egocentric, better control and less unnecesarry
"showing off". Also positive is that he looks more confident. If he plays for his team and not for his career he will succeed. He has to work hard and listen to his trainer. He can become a star, but he can`t just trust on his talent, that won`t be enough. He has to put in the effort. He seems to have a lot of respect for his coach and willing to fight and work for his place in the team.
