Bashar double sinks AC Milan.

Kuwait gave an inspiring performance on Thursday before handing Italian giants a (2-0) defeat before 25.000 fans crammed at Hamad Al-Hamad stadium in Kuwait city, on Thursday.

The game is the first rehearsal match planed for Duzan Uhrin side en route to the Asian Cup finals next October in Lebanon. Kuwait's upcoming friendly match will see them playing Asian Cup hosts Lebanon in June 25, away in Tripoli city.

Man of the match was non other then the inevitable striker Bashar Abdullah, voted last month by AFC as Asia's second best players last month, netting two goals in the second period to hand AC Milan a surprising defeat.

Milan dictated the game to their hosts in the first 30 minutes, striker Maurizio Ganz spared for them an early scare when his header went inches off the crossbar in the third minute, attacking mate Andrei Shevchenko emulated him six minutes later when his devastating 20-yard drive way acrobatically parried away by keeper Falah Dabsha.

Kuwait's first chance fell to schemer Badr Hajji in the 16th minute, his well-curled free-kick was typically saved by Sebastiano Rossi, before the giant figure made an instinctive save off Bashar Abdullah header in the 39th minute, as the first period ended scoreless.

Kuwait were the more committed and resolute side after the restart, and it was no surprise when Bashar Abdullah edged them in front in the 65th minute, from a superb move: Abdullah beat off the challenge of both players Alessandro Costacurta and Jose Chamot on the edge of the 18-yard box, laid off the ball to schemer Badr Hajji down the left flank, swept forward to meet his pin-pointed cross to beat the keeper with ease.

Abdullah's sizzling run in the penalty box was harshly met by Chamot in the 82nd minute, for the referee to award him a penalty well negotiated by Abdullah himself, the game's second goal, giving Kuwait a massive psychological boost ahead of their scheduled friendly games next month.

Who cares, it was a friendly game. It doesn't mean anything.

I'll even go so far as to say good for the Kuwaitis :)

thanx gambine :).. i just watched the game .. and it was boring in the firs half .. but the second half was fair for kuwait .. ( i said that the stars of kuwait played ) .. i was wrong!!! only few main players played .. the others were new to the national team .. and what made me mad is that milan couldn't handle these new young players .. but as you said it was a friendly game .. but i still have these bad feelings about the CL

anyways if you want to see the goals .. you can see them at:

No I didn't see the match, but I'm not surprised Sheva played great. He's been outstanding since coming here, even better than I thought. To win the scoring title in your first season is amazing, even if he had some penalty goals.

Yeah Juventino he was played really good, one play I liked when he played the ball with his heel and ran after it very fast that he even beat the England player to the ball. Unfortunately the keeper saved it, but really Ukraine without Sheva is a big zero
