I don't like that rule at all, if the goalie comes out and the last defender is by the net it's the goalies fault he should have stayed in. But according to the rules the linesman should have put a flag up but he didn't, that's why they are resting him for a bit.

There is that "subrule" (for lack of a better term) that states that if a player isn't interfering with the play it's not offside. I personally don't like that though and often ignore it. For me, this should be an offside call.
