Nobody likes gloaters.
A mixed night for Spanish clubs.
Deportivo were given a lesson by the impressive milan.
Barca with a 2-0 victory.
Take Madrid out of Spain and they arent quite as impressive.
I have said all along that I felt that on current or more recent seasons, the spanish league is the strongest. It has had the strongest teams (3 in the semis of the CL 2 seasons ago being a defining time and moment).
To say its the best, as proven in many arguements is bold and silly particularly if you have no reasonable explanation.
This could be the year that the Serie A teams come back from the edge of euro football. Inzaghi getting a hatrick in any game is worrying , as he is crap. Euro football only has one big team at the moment, Madrid. United are very much a shadow of their former teams, Bayern are well below par and up until this season no Italian team has stamped its authority on the euro scene since the great Zidane led Juve team of the mid-laye 90's.
What could happen and what any team outside of Madrid can hope for is that Madrid will have too many creative players, the old saying of "too many cooks spoil the food", ie they will not take orders off each other as their egos will get the better of them. Figo, Ronaldo, raul, Zidane, Roberto Carlos. Thats 5 of the top 10 players in the world, in the one team. How does a manager keep them all happy? They are all going to be expecting prefrential treatment. Carlos is the only professional on that team , not too big for his boots. The rest are likely to moan over the season, so hopefull for soccer, and the good of the game, somebody will overthrow Madrid in europe.

Barca are on the right track again with LVG. Unfortunately, they have no transfer funds for him to spend on improving the squad. They are looking much better either way and are on their way to winning their CL group.

I think you're being a bit harsh on some of the Real players. Besides, that's my job! :D Seriously though, I think R Carlos, Zidane and Raul are all professionals. IMO Figo and Ronaldo are the only two who would cause problems. Raul seems to have free reign over any and everything at the club, so he could cause problems. I doubt he will though. Either way, they all should be in the starting XI every match barring injury or fatigue.

Purely on topic, yes the Spanish league is the best.

I do consider the English Premier League to be a bit more entertaining, but the Spanish league is also great to watch.
Ofcourse entertaining has nothing to do with the quality of the league. I rate the English League second.

Perhaps the times are changing looking at the perfomances of AC Milan and Juventus, not only according to the latest CL matches. Especially Milan looks good.

But everybody knows the Dutch League is what it`s all about. :D

Like Giulio Cesare used to say: Many enemies, much respect.
Plus, what I mean is that SPA media especially likes to tlak shit about everyone except themself. Just read Marca or AS and man, they just post worst stuff than the NEnquirer!

IMO Spanish league is not the best. I mean in EURO REal has dont well but who else? GER team have done much better yet no one talks about them.

Valencia reached the UCL-final in 1999/00 and 2000/01. Barça reached the Semifinals in 2000 and 2002. 3 spanish teams in the UCL semis 2000 and 2 in the last 2 years.

On the german side: 1 team in the semis 2000, 1 team in the semis 2001 and 1 last season with a spanish winner at the end.

Depor too has gone far in the CL. I think it is a two horse race between Spain and Italy with nothing seperating them.

Valencia performed well recently too. Two finals in a row is pretty good.

Why are you acting like this Drum? I told you many times that IMO this BEST is a complicated thing that applies to the individual. I personally dont think its the best. I am not saying it sucks, I am saying that I think that SERIE A is better. I dont see a problem with that.
Lucky? Not really, Real and other Spa team have played very well, but about luck, I suggest you watch the Real Roma game where Roma tied, and the other ones where the great Figo takes the Pks by going-stop-and kick.
And those matches were won like this. And also, whatabout German teams? They seem to do so well yet no one ever mentions the Bundensliga to be the best? German teams in the last 6 years and more are always in the semis for sure.
Spa teams have fared well but I mean Barcelona lately its not the Barca we know. Real is the only team I have to say. Depor is good but have they got further than Semis lately? and Valencia out of the last 4 year got the semis once and to the final another and thats it.
Plus they lost against Bayern.

wonder, why some people have problems to persuade others.
Or is this, because their opinion is a minority problem? ;)

I thinl La Liga, Serie A and the Premiership are the best in about equal footing.

Spoken like a true politician!! :D

But I agree, everyone of those leagues has its qualities, no doubts. Just for me some qualities way heavier than other qualities.

But still, having the third strongest league still isn`t that bad.

I judge my leagues by quality of play (fast paced, attacking) and the quality of its teams.
