The current squad is very competitive according to Cragnotti who believes Lazio could be heading towards a very important season. But there are not only sport ambitions, but also financial ambitions.
Cragnotti said during the press conference that Lazio's ambition this season will be to fight till the end and to at least qualify to the Champions League. Lazio should also try to reach important results in the UEFA Cup, and of course also try to do its best in the Italian Cup.
When it comes to the financial part, Cragnotti said that unlikely from what many writes and says, Lazio have solved its debts and are in an ok financial situation. However, the incomes from TV are not what they used to be and that's why the situation anyway looks difficult.
Cragnotti said that as things are today, the balance after next season will be of - 50 to 75 million Euro. That's what all the big clubs lose every season. To solve this, the players must accept lower salary and some players must leave the team to save the club the expenses of the salary but also to receive an extra income.

Agreed, I'm excited and nervous about the upcoming season, I want Lazio to do well (like always) and have high-expectations, especially if players like Nesta stay
All we need to do is get rid of some players like Baggio, Liverani, Simeone (wants to end career at Atletico) and possibly Mendi, and we'll be good

I'm mainly concerned about the midfield right now.
Where will the defensive midfielder, like Giannichedda, be?
Mancini likes both Stankovic and Fiore very much, and he wants Deki in the centre and Fiore's place is only in the centre...
The defence is set
Sorin-Nesta-Stam-Oddo
Attack:
Inzaghi (Lopez if I was the coach)- Crespo

Yes, I know, that's why I put Lopez in brackets, because I prefer Lopez and Mancini prefers Inzaghi, but I really don't know what he'll do with the midfield..

I think maybe Mendieta or Castroman, but do you think Sorin will play midfield or defence?
It's possible that he'll be a left mid with good defensive abilities, because if we have Deki and Fiore in the middle, they won't look back, they are very offensive minded players.
