Sorin & Oddo to be presented

Lazio will return to Rome the 12th July and before leaving for Vigo di Fassa, the two new purchases Massimo Oddo and Juan Pablo Sorin will be presentated.

Around noon the president Sergio Cragnotti, the general manager Massimo Cragnotti and the coach Roberto Mancini will hold a press-conference to officially open the new season.

Around 14.30 the presentation of Oddo and Sorin is about to take place, as usual at Formello.

I like it when the players are presented, because then I really know that they are not just rumours.

I liked a lot last season, and from what I've seen from Sorin, lazio made a real good buy, especially considering the price we paid, I think he'll be much more worth after next season.

i was actually surprised when we signed sorin for 8m euros , i was expecting around 12-15m euros

He is good both in center and to the right, but he'll probably play on the right since we have Nesta (I hope), Stam, and also Couto who all are great central defenders, and Oddo is better as a right defender than Stam if you ask me, since he can actively take part in the offensive as well, while Stam isn't creative enough on the right, as we saw last season, so I think it will be:

Central: Nesta, Stam
Right: Oddo
Left: Either Sorin or someone else depending on the Manfredini deal...

Especially considering the fact that in two years time, many of our defenders will be old and soon to retire (Mihajlovic, Negro, Pancaro, Favalli, etc.)

I would have to agree about loaning out Ola for a season or two. Wasn't he at Chievo last season? I never seen him play for them.

During the press-conference Lazio coach Roberto Mancini was asked about the wing midfielders Manfredini and Eriberto, who doesn't seem to be arriving to Lazio, also because of the problems between the Roman club and Chievo.

Mancini answered: "They might not arrive but I think we are well covered on the wings of the midfield anyway. Right now we have Sorin and Mendieta. Then we'll see what happens in the coming days."

Mancini is refering to the fact that Mendieta might end up away from Rome, and that Sorin is heavily requested by Manchester United.

He says that Manfedini and Eriberto are not required just yet becuase Sorin and Mendieta are good enough for the wings but anything can happen regarding transfers.

Becuase Mancini said he is confident in Deki that he will lead the team and be a sure starter and also said he was confident with Fiore
