Depends on your criteria. I'd say in terms of ability its' Rivaldo. However, in terms of importance Puyol gets my nod. He can play anywhere at the back, is still quite young and could easily be Barca captain some day.

I like Kluivert, he's a great striker and steps up big in important games and also when Riva and others are struggling.

I think that was Kluivert last season. I hope he keeps it up. He really is maturing as a player and was a real leader for the team last season. I don't think he's been that sort of player for us until last season. Here's to more of that sort of thing next year.
One more thing about him, he's been very loyal to the keep despite being linked with many suitors.

you should try going on icons.com, it has his homepage and bunch of personal stuff. its cool, What i like about Kluivert he's not selfish and handles his business properly, and i think he's one ofthe most underrated players in the world and squad.

I've been to Icons before. I'll check it out again. It's been a while since i've been on it. It's a cool site though. Makes you feel kinda close to the players with that diary.
I agree he's underrated as a player. Anyone on the team will tell you that he creates as many chances as he scores goals too. He's a pretty well rounded striker.
Off the field, he's getting more mature. There was that report about he and some of the other players in that Hotel room incident last season where they were partying with some ladies a night or two before a match. Sounded a bit like the press working overtime, but coulda happened. Lasse probably took em out on a night on the town and hooked em up with some ladies! :) Lasse you pimp!!! :)

But about that ladies thing i dont really beleive it becasue Kluivert has a fiance or a girlfriend and it was said that it happend in the team hotel room which would be impossible because there are other players and coaches to bust them if the party at night before a game.

Yeah, it did seem a bit far-fetched. However, Kluivert's done some weird stuff before. I heard he once posed for nude pics and they were then put on the net. I think Lasse took the pics! :eek: :D ;)

You just keep joking about me! Yeah, Kluivert has been quite good this season, and has saved us a lot of times. But Pyol I also liked much! Rivaldo is always good!

Most Consistant:Carles Puyol
Oh I did not have my two cents in here so far. Here they go: Kluivert, Luis Enrique, Puyol, Mendieta are currently the best. But the rest is skillfull and talented as well. Though we lost Rivaldo I think we have one of the strongest Barça-teams ever. :star:

I think its hard to pinpoint one player. But i feel Luis Enrique is the best player. He is a great team leader and he works his backside off for the team. Not to mention, he also gets in vital goals here and there :)

Oh, and about Kluivert and weird stuff, thank god he's nowhere near as strange as Dwight Yorke. The stories involving that man and Andy Cole and various women are definite eye poppers ;)

I just hope Riqueleme sometime will be as good as Rivaldo were. But right now, I'd say Puyol. Of course Enrique, Kluivert and the rest of the team is good footballers, but Puyol fights like a lion and he's gonna be very important in this season IMO

I still think it's Puyol. Mendieta could be another one this season though.

I think the best player in the squad is Gaz Mendieta. I've been a fan of his for about 5 or 6 years because I think he's a great player that can inspire the whole squad with hard work. Also he is great when it comes to 30-meter ranged free kicks or corners and crossing. Beware Beckham, you maybe better looking but it doesn't count in the game.

Also, Mendigol runs the whole game and plays well defensively too. However, Beckham is better at crosses and free kicks. Mendigol maybe isn't far off, but Becks is better.
As of now: Kluivert
But the good thing about Barça is that they´re signing promising youth, although it hasn´t been cheap in many cases. Saviola wasn´t cheap by any means but, unlilke Geovanni who was also an expensive sigining, he will be worth it. Rochemback I think is really good, he adds a lot of strength (and quite a few yellow cards ;) ) to the midfield, and let´s not talk about how they stole Riquelme, who has the talent to be FAR better than Rivaldo. Also, let´s not forget their own homegrown talent like Puyol and Xavi.

Yes, I know Beckham is better kicking but I didn't mean that. Gaz is almost as good as Becks in those means but if you're as good as he is, being better doesn't matter. Mendieta has more strength, his anticipation is admirable (the few moments he was on the field instead of that damn De Pedro, he could run 20 seconds in a row full speed to get the ball when some players quit when they lose the ball). Also he is better in defense than Beckham.
The point is, his kind of players motivate the whole squad to give a little more to the team so all of his quality is not in him, it's around him. I really hope he'll have better season than in Lazio.

I hope we can get Mendigol on the cheap next year. Lazio are really in it. They need $$$ bad. If he does well, LVG will insist on his move becoming permanent. LVG really was the force behind bringing in Mendigol to the Nou Camp.

Totally. And while they are there, they should find some money from somewhere and get Crespo, I think. We do have a really good, young squad but there are only 3 real forwards. And of them, Dani hasn't played a lot. Hell, adding another world class player to the squad is never a bad thing!!!
On the thread topic, I think in terms of Talent, Riquelme is the best player in the squad. I've watched him a lot for Boca, he's an immense talent. But I'm also very fond of Xavi, I think he can become a true world class midfielder, a captain of Spain on day perhaps.

Xavi and JR are both great, but I don't think JR would see as much of the ball w/o Xavi in the lineup. Xavi is the engine room.

Probably. That's why I'm beginning to get more optimistic about the coming season, we now have plenty of midlfield options. The players can complement each other perfectly. I also happen to like Rochemback, a real tough player, something we've lacked for a while in my opinion.

Yeah, Rochemback is a real fighter which is good 'cause then can him and Cocu share the position as the working man at the midfield. If Cocu gets tired, Rochemback comes in, and the same the other way around.

Yea, I think Rochemback is our version of Edgar Davids. He's a real bulldog type player who goes out and wins you the ball.

Well when both of this players are fit I still like Davids better. I have seen some Barça games and Rochemback playing and he has a sucky shot but he is pretty good.

Actually, Rochemback has a rocket for a shot. Not the most accurate ever, but a rocket all the same. I'd prefer Mark van Bommel to either Rochemback or Davids at this point. Davids is 30 and I think van Bommel is better than Rochemback. I know LVG wanted van Bommel, but he was too expensive as Barca didn't have a lot of $$$ to spend this summer. Hopefully we can get him next summer.
