thing is, Cuper has said, everyone will play in their natural position this season, without making sacrifices. For example, we will not see Recoba play on the left wing, nor Dalmat. Dalmat can play infront of the defence, or as an offensive midfielder. Thats what he said. Recoba IMO can be better at times than Vieri, so he might partner Ronaldo on more occasions that u think.

On the right, I would love to see Joauqin, who IMO can become one of the best in the world. the chap is only 20 years something... I hope... Kily and Joauqin on the flanks, perfect, along with Dalmat and Di Bi/Cristiano in the middle... we have a superior team IMO,,, and along with Ronaldo...

Moratti predicts Nesta will stay at Lazio:

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti is ready to concede defeat in his bid to to sign Italy defender Alessandro Nesta.

"People ask if I think he will go to Juve, Inter or AC Milan, but to be honest I think he will stay at Lazio next season," he explained.

Moratti held a meeting with Lazio counterpart Sergio Cragnotti on Wednesday, but explained that the transfer of Nesta was not on the agenda.

"It was not the right time to discuss transfer dealing. We will hold more discussions but we don't want to spend over our budget," insisted Moratti.

"We have to stay realistic and look for players who have something to prove. I don't think we will be making any big signings. Of course Nesta is a great player, but unfortunately we cannot buy the best players in the world whenever we want."

Meanwhile, Cragnotti, who has stated that Lazio will have to sell this summer to balance the books, claimed he was not concerned by Inter's stance on Nesta, just 24 hours after Juventus also withdrew their interest.

"We have not received any bids for Nesta," he said. "We will do everything we can to keep him, even though we will not be left with a choice if a club makes an offer that meets our valuation.

"There are clubs interested in Spain but it is not easy to negotiate with Spanish clubs."

Cragnotti explained that all of the players the club are hoping to hold on to have been asked to gather for pre-season training on July 18, while others will meet with the board on July 7.

It is understood that Spain midfielder Gaizka Mendieta is on the list of players to be offloaded.

06/28/2002. Inter president Massimo Moratti has revealed that Lazio captain Alessandro Nesta is still very much of interest to him, despite the two sides failing to agree a fee.

The Nerazzurri chief apparently offered around £20 million plus Sergio Conceicao in a meeting on Wednesday but Sergio Cragnotti believed the cash offer to be too low.

"Lazio are asking for a pricey 40 million euros," said Moratti. "In the current climate it is not easy to offer this kind of money but he is still of interest to us."

MILAN, June 29 - by Nadia Carminati (DS) No more than 25 millions Euros and a player: this was the agreement reached yesterday between Inter's president Massimo Moratti and Juventus' general manager Luciano Moggi about offers to Lazio for Alessandro Nesta. They arrived at this decision after an effort which obliges Lazio's president Cragnotti not to change his requests every time. Inter will offer this sum plus Cristiano Zanetti, Juventus offered the same amount, but with Alessio Tacchinardi. Now both teams are waiting for Cragnotti's decision and it seems that these will be the Italian defender's last hours with Lazio.

However, Cragnotti voiced his anger at the pact that was made between the clubs yesterday. He announced a block over Nesta and a request of almost 30 millions Euros in addition to a player. A definite decision about this saga, will probably be reached on Monday.
