I felt it necessary to start a new thread to bid adieau to one of the great servants of the club. Sergi will be leaving Barca after some 9 seasons with the club. During that time he has won trophies and also been a Spanish international. He came up throuugh the club and eventually came to captain the team. I want to wish him the best of luck. I would have preferred to see him stay, even as a backup. However, I understand that his leaving seems best for all parties. I hope that someday he returns to the club in some capacity.

FORCA SERGI!!!!

hey azulgrana
is your nick spanish for blue and red, cause i though barca nick name was blaugrana???

anyways that's not my post,
i was gonna say it looks like barca is restructuring the team....again, and seem to be heading down inter's path a few seasons back.
new players in and out with every new coach, i don't want to see my favourite spanish aristocrats look like inter a few years ago

so what are the confirmed official transfer to barca in the meantime??

I've heard both azulgrana and blaugrana used, I think. I think azulgrana means that.

I think LVG's return to Barca is sort of like Cuper coming to Inter. I think Barca are in for a stable period with LVG. He won the league twice in three seasons last time round and he's had hindsight to examine the past. Also, I've made quite a few posts concerning his return, some of which contain links to interesting articles. The onefootball link I particularly liked as it was in sync with much of what I had been posting/thinking about his return. The past two seasons were rough. Last season wasn't as bad as the previous though. Serra Ferrer was poor in my opinion. Rexach was better, but he changed the lineup too much. LVG has really been following Barca in his absence and says that the post is his dream job. I have faith in him. Besides, there weren't too many other realistic candidates out there for the job that I'd have taken. I'd like to see LVG there for a while (5-10 seasons-not realistic I know) and then see Ronald Koeman replace him. Many people feel Koeman is the man for the job now, but I think he needs more experience.
