05/24/2002. Argentina coach Marcelo Bielsa says he hasn't yet decided who will play up front in his side's first game of the World Cup - Hernan Crespo or Gabriel Batistuta.
Crespo has been most people's favourite to get the nod, but Batistuta's four goals in a friendly match against Kashima Antlers yesterday can have done his chances no harm at all.
"It's a very difficult choice and I have not decided yet," said Bielsa. "Crespo tends to drop back more to start movements from down the middle or on the sides. Batistuta is more central and prefers the final third of the pitch."

why not ? If needed Crespo can support Batistuta and play the through balls for him to latch onto and score .

05/30/2002. Strong signals indicating Hernan Crespo will get the start over Gabriel Omar Batistuta when Argentina commence their World Cup campaign against Nigeria on Sunday afternoon arrived from the friendly match the South American giants lost 1-0 to Japanese side Vegalta Sendai today.
In fact, all the expected starters were allowed to rest, while the team Bielsa sent onto the pitch was made up solely of second string players.
Batistuta came onto the green carpet with 20 minutes left to be played, but Crespo didn't even take a seat on the bench.
This is devastating news for the AS Roma striker as 'the Lion King' will probably be forced to live out most of his last World Cup from the Albino-Celeste bench
yeah......
