I read that in the Guiness Book of Records. This Irish kid is the youngest and Miller I think is the oldest.
Thought I do recall a play in WC 94 that was like 40 something? Or aybe that was Milla. Plus Milla is one of the best!

The youngest has to be Brazilian. It is either Pele or Ronaldo ( I think he kicked the ball once or twice even though not playing much in USA 94). Most probably it is Pele. The oldest is already mentioned, Roger Milla (42).

Why it HAS to be Brazilian? Its not. Check it in any Gbook.

Norman whiteside was the youngest
Roger Miller was the oldest scorer in a 6-1 defeat by Russia and Oleg Salenko scored 5 goals (he may be the only player to do that - Juste Fontaine possibly?)

Roger Milla was the oldest scorer AND player in WC history. Juste Fontaine scored 13 goals in the 1958 WC but he never scored 5 in one game. Oleg Salenko is the only player to do so in WC 94.

Norman Whiteside is the youngest player to play in the world cup. I think it was 1982 in spain.
